It might explain a lot, if the writers weren't two or more times the cited age (they'd have started when they were 5, if they were 15 now), and in many cases happily married. It also might explain a lot, if the former female writers turned out more memorable scripts instead of ones forgotten or derided. So pretty much the Stargate franchise is written by sex crazed 15 year olds who don't know anything about women. This really does explain a lot.
No, just none that have done noticeably better with Stargate on the screen than their male colleagues. Would I have a problem with a female writer on the show? No! (If I did, I wouldn't read Fandemonium's novels, whose authors to date have mostly been female with just one exception, possibly 1.5 depending on "Jaimie Duncan"'s gender.) I just don't think there's any reason to believe that just having a female or five on staff will magically make the show better. Some there isn't a single good female writer on the face of the Earth?
