Making concessions: What must you have?

...depending of course on the theatre I attend....
I used to go to one of a few different local theaters, depending on which was showing what movie -- I head no real preference.

However, about 8 years ago my area got one of those "stadium/arena style" theaters with each row of seats on its own "riser" or step (so line of sight is not a problem) and seats that are large and comfortable with high backs and could recline somewhat, and with ample leg room to stretch out. The screens are big, the sound is good, and there are two digital theater rooms.

Since that new theater was built I haven't seen a movie anywhere else, even though it's a bit of an extra drive -- about 25 minutes away from my house, and about 15 minutes further away than the others I could attend.

I don't blame you. Despite having two serviceable theatres down the street, I often go out of my way to hit the newish gigantoplex which has big comfy seats and several IMAX screens. There isn't a bad seat in the IMAX rooms.

^^ I have to travel about 125 miles -- either to New York City or to Philadelphia -- to go to an IMAX.

I don't like seeing movies alone, so I would take my family. I can be in New York in about 2 1/2 hours (depending on the Lincoln Tunnel traffic). However, when we go to New York, my wife and daughter don't want to spend time in a movie theater. They want to shop. Or they want to see a live Broadway show. But I know they won't want to see a movie.

So it doesn't seem that I will be seeing this in IMAX.

There's two IMAX Theater's at the Palisades Mall off of I-87 in Nyak, New York.
(just north of the Tappan Zee Bridge)
They are advertising that they will have Trek XI.

It's a HUGE fracking Mall. so you could let the ladies do their shopping while you enjoy the movie (maybe even twice) :)

Not sure where in PA your are, but taking 78 to 287 to 87 would bring you right to the Mall. Might add 40 or 50 minutes to the trip but you could avoid the City.

I cannot believe that this lousy parody thread is still alive.

For second-run I'm partial to these drafthouse cinemas. I like a hawaiian pizza with my raygun fights.
