Make up a fake bit of Trek trivia!

FACT: In the 3rd season of Enterprise, it was intended for Daniels to take Miles O'Brien back in time to be the chief engineer on board the NX-01, after Charles Tucker suffered a fatal accident. But Colm Meaney turned down the role, because he was afraid of becoming typecast.

FACT: Colm Meaney once told a fan "go f**k yourself" at a trek convention when he was told that he shouldn't have married Keiko.

Patrick Stewart originally auditioned for the part of Worf, but he turned out to be allergic to the makeup used and went bald as a result.

FACT: Miles O'Brian was going to be the Section 31 recruit, however Berman realised that he would be too badass and gritty for the role and gave it to the mellow Bashir instead.

Steven Segal was going to be in an episode of DS9, in which Miles O'Brian woud kill Steven Segal's character. but the deal fell through.

Years later, Colm Meaney appeared in Steven Segal's movie Under Seige, in which Steven Segal killed Colm Meaney's character.

:)

FACT: The reason we haven't seen any decent Steven Seagal movies in years is because Colm Meaney killed him.

Colm Meaney will also kill US if we stop talking about him in this thread. He would prefer a simple "Facts about Colm Meaney" thread, though.

FACT: Dr Selar didn't appear in anymore episodes of TNG because Colm Meaney got a pay rise.

FACT: Colm Meaney was scheduled to play "Future Guy", but pulled out to star in layer cake and thus ENT was cancelled.

Colm Meaney insisted on writing the script for The Assignment  .

Chase Masterson was paid $1,500,000 in every episode where she appeared as Rom's Wife.

DS9's writers originally had the idea of Leeta marrying Odo, but thought it was not realistic, so they had her marry Rom.

Riding upon the success of TNG, Wesley Crusher was to come out with his own line of hip-hop oriented clothing, but he left in the last few seasons.

The Genesis Planet scenes in Star Trek III were filmed on location in Everglades National Park.

Esther Williams' final film role was that of Gracie in Star Trek IV.

FACT: Colm Meaney actually met the person with nickname JonnyQuest037 at a Star Trek convention. But Jonny was dismayed with Colm's cool demeanor to him, so he started this thread with the ulterior motive of unleashing a rumor mill about Colm. And you see, it worked. JonnyQuest037 started a facts thread about him, not saying they're fake!

FACT: The probe in ST IV was 'portrayed' onscreen by a large piece of sausage (actual size) which was used during the filming process. Afterwards it was eaten by the cast.

Rick Berman is actually Brannon Braga 20 years from now, who came back in time to give him the job on TNG. The both are writers on 24 now.

FACT: Firefly was actually meant to be the next Star Trek series. It would've been set during The Original Series era...

Dammit, Gary7 is on to me!

Colm was just understandably disappointed that I was not as manly as him.
