Majel Barrett Roddenberry Has Died

*Stands with my fellow Trekkers / Trekkies in Dress Uniforms from every era, standing in two rows. Our heads lowered in reverence, our hands neatly folded in front of us. Tears & weeping very visible. One row on each side of the torpedo holding Majel's remains as a funeral is conducted. At the completion of the funeral, several starships in an Honor Guard (again from every era, including the "Andromeda Ascendant" and the Companion mothership from "Earth: Final Conflict",) stand witness as Majel's torpedo coffin is gingerly, lovingly fed into the torpedo launcher of the U.S.S. Enterprise-E at one end of the corridor of starships & fired into space.*

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

- Traditional Gaelic Blessing

:( A sad day for all of trek nation . So glad I was at Las Vegas con this year to be part of the standing ovation for her from a grateful audience. A true Icon who provided a common thread that wove together all facets of Star Trek. Condolences to all, especially her family. The stars will be a lot brighter due to her presence among them.:)

I just found out this morning. Like many here, I didn't even know she was sick.

May God grant her eternal peace.

Echoing what many people are saying, a great lady and will be missed. But will always be fondly remembered. RIP

I never post on this particular TBBS board, but I knew I'd find a huge thread on this when I showed up. I'm sad to see her go. I always enjoyed her work on all the Trek shows very much.

She was a great actress and perhaps an even stronger driving force behind the vision of Star Trek than Gene in some ways. A real class act. She will be missed. RIP

Oh man :(

Terrible news.

The only person to appear in every incarnation of Trek, including JJs next May. Majel was a major part of Trek, and she will be missed.

At least she got to appear one last time, to pass the torch to the 'next generation'.

Very sad news,
I will cherish my memories of meeting her at a convention in Boston and the signed photo she autographed for me :)
May she now rest in peace with the great bird of the galaxy

It does seem horribly sudden, even by this year's horrific standards, and 76 is not so old for a woman these days (especially when she died from quite a maligant bone cancer). :(

Oscar Night is going to be awful next year with the roll call of deaths. Will her cremated remains be shot off into space like her husband's?

Very, Very sad news.

For some reason I didn't realize that she was in her 70's.
It's amazing how quickly the years pass, especially as I get older myself.

I had the privilege of meeting Majel several times at conventions and she took as much time chatting with you as you liked.
The lady was a true class act.
She will be greatly missed. :(

Rest In Peace Majel and give Gene our love.

Ms.Roddenberry will be honored on my Star Trek Memorial page, you may view it here.

I will be updating it with her many more Star Trek credits.

The voice of Star Trek has become silent. We lost one of those, who made Star Trek so special. It will never be the same without her.

She will be missed.
