Huh, for a couple seconds there, the Phaser was the TOS design.

Edit: And the communicator was full TOS, no transition to Discovery.

I'm guessing the title sequence will change next season when the Klingon arc is over, since those Mek'leths were pretty prominent in the sequence.

Interesting. Certainly different! I get James Bond vibes, the music is better without people talking over it, although I still find the fanfare at the end very tacked on.

I find the Michelangelo reference at the end cringeworthy. The rest looks okay but I guess I'm not excited by seeing phaser and communicator artwork in the intro.

Yeah, it's not bad, but strange. Like an intro for the behind the scenes making of Trek rather than for the show proper.

it feels sort of incomplete, the TOS phaser transforms into the Discovery Phaser, but the TOS Communicator just vanishes, no Discovery Communicator

The one thing I’m happy about is that it’s not your typical starship/station porn we’ve seen in most of the Berman era stuff. Not quite sure what I’m expecting. It’s okay.

Was expecting it to turn into a space shot at the end with the ship flying by... Interesting tho. Nice but definitely might be trying too hard to be like Westworld or GoT. Just might take some getting used to because it's different for a Star Trek show.

Even the visuals say "we don't know what this show's identity is beyond 'new Star Trek show.'" It is literally half-finished blueprints turning into half-finished props and costumes.

What the fuck is DSC actually about?
