I find this season to be the best so far. I've no complaints.

I love Bert Cooper.
Yeah, he's cool too, but he doesn't have a lot of dialogue.
He also looks way older on the show than he does in real life.
^ I can remember a time when it was the general consensus that Robert Morse would never get old! 
He needs to be in it more, no doubt.

It's very weird to watch that musical now, having seen Mad Men first.
Yeah, I found it clever in the ep. where Don got mugged.
I've thought that as well since the first episode of the first season. I thought to myself "well this must be how the series will end in the final episode". I know that opening could be conveying different things as well but i couldnt help but think that Don jumping from his office could very well be how it all ends. We have already seen a downward slide this season for him since he was pressured into signing a contract with SC. I'm sure the road ahead is even rockier given that there will probably be fall out from the teacher thing.
Oh, the teacher thing's gonna blow up in his face. Whether she gets possessive, knocked up, or Sally sees them going at it, it's gonna blow up. Don's headed for self destruction on that one. I'd love it if Betty finally managed to open Don's secret drawer simultaneously with finding out about the bunny boiler to be.

I've liked Mad Men from the beginning, but things seemed to have slowed up. Good thing a season is only thirteen episodes long. I admit part of the appeal is its ambience and style.
But I missed last week's episode and I'll miss the rest of the season because I've just moved into an area that doesn't get AMC (or TCM
) on the cable package.
I'll have to download the episodes, which is okay but I prefer watching things on my TV rather than my computer, or I'll just have to pick up the season sets.

Wouldn't Don get locked up in Leavenworth for desertion if he was ever found out publicly? Dick Whitman wasn't finished with his tour of duty. Maybe that's why Don would jump out a window? Korea was a "police action" but I understood that the same rules applied. Pre-Vietnam, a deserter couldn't hold his head up in public.
So far, the only interesting things that's happened this season are:
1. English guy loses his foot in an office party gone wrong.
2. Don's massive betrayal of poor Sal.
Putting these two together, the obvious next step is to combine office place violence and Sal's story. I vote he comes back to work carrying an AK-47* and lets Don have it.
*If AK-47s are anachronistic, how about a Tommy gun a la Scarface (the original!)?
This was nasty yet also rather perversely funny.
