Lt. David Mack?

^ Oh, and that reminds me. Amy Sisson gets a mention....uh....somewhere. :)

Amy Sisson? Surely you're not talking about the veteran stage actress? ;)

-- Mark

^ So. You're the one who read that article. :)

I read it, too. I laughed.

As Dayton will attest, within about five minutes of my receiving the piece he got an email back going:

As portrayed by veteran stage actress Amy Sisson

Oh yeah????

There's a lot of easter eggs in that piece to be found - I'm not convinced I've got all of them yet!!

I was also lucky enough to have a character named after me (Carl Murphy) by KRAD in A Time For War, A Time For Peace... Sadly, I died shortly after my introduction.. but Worf did vow to avenge my death, so that was kinda cool. My family all thought it was amusing.

I'm sure Carl has a backstory so I'm still holding out hope he pops up in a prequel book. :p
Actually, Carl Murphy has a very brief cameo in A Burning House, which takes place three years prior to AtfW,AtfP. :D (It's in Chapter 23....)

Oh fantastic!!! *adds A Burning House to my reading list*. Thanks, Keith!! :D

^^ Alright. I have to admit it. The militant Janeway fans are right: I only say nice things about the authors because I want a character named after me. ;)

You've got a whole channel named after you - what are you moaning about? They did a series after me, and colored everyone yellow!!

I have a small sea side town in Somerset/South Gloucestershire named after me :vulcan:

c'est Francais pour, 'ow you say, 'on-the-sea'?

popularly known as Weston-Super-Mud when i was a kid because of the beach quality...

funnily enough, though, Weston-Super-Mare was where Colin Kent landed in John Cleese's Superman: True Brit story...though since Cleese is from WSM, maybe not so surprising...

I caught the mention of a "Dayton Ward" in A Singular Destiny.. cracked me up..
Huh? The only mention of Dayton Ward in ASD was in the acknowledgments.............
I swear i saw a little mention of a Dayton Ward. I cant remember where it was in the book, but I think it called him a historian...

I think you may be confusing that with the Captain Proton feature in the new STM - in the opening para, I described Dayton as a cultural historian, tying it in loosely with the post-Destiny era.

That may be it... Too much Trek lit for me to keep track of... xD

That said, id LOVE to be a character in a Trek book, even just a security guard standing in the background.. (im a security guard IRL so..) If any author wants to put this fan into his dream, send me a PM for my real name..

please?

The First New Frontier book has Lt. Kristian Ayre, He was An actor on Peter David's Space Cases

Before Dishonor has Commanders Brevroot, Shmidt and Wacker, who are all comic Editors. At the time of the novels release they all worked for Marvel. I think Wacker is with another company now.

An Andorian prison transport commander named Macaskill in "Double Helix: Double or Nothing" by Peter David is named for Andy MacAskill, a friend of PAD's.

An Andorian, Ensign Snell of the USS Livingston, is part of the away team which Burgoyne leads to Damiano. (The short story "Oil and Water" by Robert T Jeschonek in "New Frontier: No Limits".) The character is presumably named for Star Trek movie makeup special effects artist, Richard Snell.
