I think she was actually in several of the A Time to... books. I remember that those had a lot of those kind of characters.
KRAD also named a character after me in his Buffy novel, The Deathless. In fact my mother was very proud of this and bought like three copies, one of which she sent to my Aunt. It also impressed my roomates and at least one of my classmates at college that semester.

I have recalled that there are characters named Michael Schuster in both The Buried Age and the Vanguard novels.

Well, there's a Lt. Schuster in TBA, and he's named in honor of Michael Schuster, who helped me out with a lot of technical information on the Stargazer, but I never established a first name for the character.

I was also lucky enough to have a character named after me (Carl Murphy) by KRAD in A Time For War, A Time For Peace... Sadly, I died shortly after my introduction.. but Worf did vow to avenge my death, so that was kinda cool. My family all thought it was amusing.

I'm sure Carl has a backstory so I'm still holding out hope he pops up in a prequel book.
