(He places a hollow rank pip on the table.)

LAVELLE: I just got promoted.

 

[HarryM]

OGAWA: Congratulations.

 

[Admiral Shran]

LAVELLE: Thanks. It just don't feel right. For all I know, she was going to get the promotion instead of me.

 

[HarryM]

BEN: You shouldn't feel that way, Sam.

 

[Admiral Shran]

OGAWA: She would have been happy for you, Sam.

 

[HarryM]

(Ogawa pins Lavelle's new rank pin to his collar, making him a Lieutenant, JG)

TAURIK: The best way to remember her would be to excel in your new position.

 

[Admiral Shran]

OGAWA: We're proud of you, Sam.

 

[HarryM]

(Worf is alone at another table. Ben comes over to him.)

BEN: Excuse me, sir, but I need to move this table.

 

[Admiral Shran]

WORF: What?

 

[HarryM]

BEN: There's an empty seat over there.

(He indicates Lavelle and company)

 

[Admiral Shran]

WORF: I appreciate what you are trying to do, but it is not appropriate. You were her friends. I was only her commanding officer.

 

[HarryM]

BEN: Sir, I happen to know that she considered you a friend.

(Worf gets up and joins the other table. Nothing is said but looks of quiet understanding, remembering and honoring their friend, Sito)
