Spoilers Lower Decks General Discussion Thread

If you want a better idea of what Mike McMahan's humor and writing is like I'd suggest watching Solar Opposites on Hulu. Its TV-MA rather than what I assume will be TV-14 for Lower Decks, but it still should give you an idea.

Also the TNG Season 8 twitter account, the book 'Star Warped'.

Seeing the Cerrito in multiple angles really has made me like it even more. I could tell they actually DID use the Ranger Class from the FASA game as an influence for the design, and it really does look good and utilitarian for multiple types of missions. I really hope they actually use the ship for multiple rolls like a cargo hauler between the saucer and secondary hull. And once again, gonna repost the pic of the Ranger class just for reference, because I like the design that much!

Rick & Morty does Star Trek.

I'm down. I enjoyed Rick & Morty until this last season and I enjoyed Solar Opposites.

I thought there were some amazing episodes this last season. The Vat of Acid episode was utterly brilliant. Probably the best episode yet. One of my favourite episodes of TV, actually.

Looks like Final Space meets Rick and Morty. Which is awesome, I'm on board!

Now let's just hope someone carries it outside America. Or Dan will be mad and nobody wants that.

Well, Midnight’s Edge have a video claiming Netflix and Amazon passed. So I’m happy to believe anything other than that. Those big ol’ fakes. I’m guessing some deal is in the works, held up by the global pandemic.

Can we at least merge the trailer thread into this thread?
I see no need. This is exactly when you'd expect there to be multiple threads about the new show.

As is usually the case, this will be the de facto Lower Decks forum until it gets its own forum.

Another possibility that strikes me is most of the humor is really deep references to obscure parts of Trek lore which CBS was naturally really averse to featuring in a trailer.
