Whilst this is good news, I'm guessing that means not to expect Disco S3 until October at the earliest.

So we get to see the ship. Fucking Finally.
Am I missing some big Netflix or Prime announcement or is this a slap across the face for folks outside the US/Canada? I'm sure there's some kind of explanation but for now this really looks... umm... bad? I mean they could at least say "sorry, international people, we know you exist, we're working on it".
So, I'm guessing they all hang out in that tiny secondary hull (the titular "Lower Decks") without turbolift access, a la the Oberth Class. But it's way smaller than the Oberth, so perhaps it's just the deflector controls and some engineering support, and the warp core is in the saucer somewhere.
I was wondering what was going on with the dark shell thing outside of the saucer, before I realized the saucer must disconnect from the pylons and the shell (which doesn't seem to be connected to the pylons... but might be) is just some sort of extended saucer clamp that remains with the secondary hull. We'll likely see a saucer separation, or at least they prepared for that possibility with the California class.
The yellow and blue strips appear to be phaser arrays, with no torpedo launchers in sight. Not a big deal, as I assume it's just a cartoon drawing and the panels that might house the launchers will be there when the show needs them. Having launchers just on the (presently unseen) top of the ship wouldn't make tactical sense.

Whole world in corona quarantine, waiting for DSC season 3 or any 'real life TREK'. What does CBS do? Give us some 30-minutes-long cartoons...
Lower Decks will be as real as any other Star Trek before or after it.

It's also not a kids show, it's rated PG-13 IIRC.
Here we go. Never doubt the ability of a Trek fan to moan about getting new Trek.
TV-14, probably (it's not a movie), but I don't think rating matters. Nickelodeon is making a show for a younger demographic, this show is for teenagers and young adults, and Discovery was initially for 18+ adults. Whereas all previous Trek (yes, even The Animated Series) was intended for full family viewing. But Trek has evolved into different tastes for different demographics and the Star Trek Universe is big enough and strange enough to allow almost any kind of story to exist without issue.
Mark it in the history books. garakvsneelix is the first person to complain about Lower Decks and compare it unfavorably to Star Trek: Discovery. The never-ending cycle continues!
