Loved "Twilight" but it made NO sense

Phlox's treatment got rid of his parasites in all the time frames. So if history was changed then why do T'Pol and Phlox even notice?

Yeah I agree Twillight made no sense especially Edward he's a creepy stalker and Bella is a brain-dead moron... oh wait. :(

We see this a lot in Trek. The earliest example I can think of is the TOS episode "City on the Edge" where those on the planet notice that history has changed.

I think sentient organisms probably have some mechanism to detect slight changes in the time line. Some species might be better tuned to it - i.e. Guinan in TNG's "Yesterday's Enterprise".

^ Not to mention the delusional behavior of the people believing it to be quality entertainment. :brickwall:

As for the Trek episode, yeah it's far fetched but it was one of the first episodes of Enterprise to really break the safety barrier. Humanity is down to less than 6,000 people, Enterprise is low on resources, Xindi are hunting any last remaining humans. It makes up for the farfetchedness quite well.

It was one of my favourite ENT eps. The emotion alone more than makes up for the gaps in story logic.

It did indeed have some gaps but LeadHead and Destructor are quite right in that the story makes up for them.

I really didn't care for any of it! The episode seemed very out of place to me when compared to the rest of the season.

I enjoyed it up to the end. They should have never pushed the reset button-- at least at that point. They should have let the cloud hang over the season that the future presented in the episode was still had a viable chance of happening. No cure for Archer, no nothing. Just flash back to the "present" and leave the viewer wondering.

Outstanding episode, in my opinion. A horrific, worst-case-scenario of what might have been, had the Xindi been victorious. I was fascinated by the way our familiar characters changed as a result of their grim reality -- Trip angry and vengeful without the friendships of Archer and T'Pol to balance him; T'Pol sad and guilt-ridden and much more gentle as she cares for Archer; Archer stripped of his good cheer and idealism by his illness, and devastated over the fate of humanity; Phlox not nearly as optimistic, but still determined to heal.

I agree with the posts above about emotion -- I thought it was a powerful, emotionally evocative story. A great way of putting the characters in a totally different kind of crisis, seeing how they cope with it.

That's because it was the only good episode in an otherwise waste of a season.
Yeah, I mean, how the hell can anyone like that shit? I mean, like, take The Forgotten, for example. That episode is pure shit. Emotions? Fine acting? Why would Trek need any of that, right?

And don't even get me started on that Similitude piece of shit... Moral dilemmas? In MY Star Trek? Fuck no!

:shifty:

I agree. I thought the sight of the settlement made up of the scavanged hulls of the armada (excluding the few ships that had weapons capability) was stunning. Tho' the interior of T'Pol and Archer's home was awfully HGTV considering what they presumably had to work with.

Its a prequel we know Earth is still around and not too mention ENT wanted a 4th season so am pretty sure Earth needs to be around for that. It was a very good episode and like all Time Travel ideas it was not clear of plot holes but who cares.

Granted they would have to button up the plot point down the line, but they didn't need to do it at the end of the episode. I think Twilight would have made a better season opener, or a cliff hanger to Season 2.

You could have the future shown in Twlight as being the point everything driving towards, and still pull a last minute save for the planet.

Agreed, but since Trip wouldn't get to see Archer very much, he despite being Captain of Enterprise would have worked his rear off to build him the best house possible. I'd be willing to bet Reed and Hoshi would've also settled for nothing less.

Also it being so nice, helps to set up the reveal of the situation very well.
