Perhaps Emerson himself wasn't meant to be on for long, but surely the idea of an "other" who ends up off the island was around before, and his interaction with Sayid, Widmore etc. Maybe they just didn't know who it was until Emerson came along and blew them away with a stellar performance.

I can't name a scene of his I haven't enjoyed.

Emerson is probably the best actor on the whole freakin show. There are quite a few great ones but he's outstanding! I'm so glad they gave him those first episodes.

It's been no secret that Emerson was only supposed to be on for a couple of episodes. I don't know what the original plan was, but this works.

Now see, that goes to my belief of them "making it up as they go along" theory. Because now he seems like a pivotal character to the whole damnned mess.

They had the basic premise and framework laid out. The details in between are flexible. And they've done a great job of filling in that framework so far. Okay, a couple of bumps but thats to be expected.

I did read somewhere (probably via here) that Eko was mean to be in for much longer, but the actor who played him just didn't like living in Hawaii so he had to be written out. Basically if someone gets written out on this show, well the only real way is death seeing as they can't really move to Florida or something.

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but I am of the belief that the two producers are as full of shit as a Christmas turkey. I figure when it's said and done, I'm going to say "huh?" However I still think it's fun to watch if just for the WTF moments if nothing else.

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but I am of the belief that the two producers are as full of shit as a Christmas turkey. I figure when it's said and done, I'm going to say "huh?" However I still think it's fun to watch if just for the WTF moments if nothing else.

I just mean at this point, does it matter? They've proven they can write an entertaining show. But nevermind, we've been down this road before.
