Ben seemed to be accepted by the group at the end, though. Remember when the tree fell on him, and they all were trying to get him out? Sawyer was even assuring him that they would. Come to think of it, we never saw them get the tree off Benn, did we? We saw them struggle with it a lot, but they were unable to lift it. Then the next scene, they all show up in time for Kate to kill Smokey.

I'm going to pretend Eko was there and he was hiding somewhere. There's no in-show reason that he wasn't there. Either that or he was able to move on before the other Losties. He never seemed that invested in Jack or his leadership. He was kind of just there.

Ben, on the other hand, I think he was ultimately accepted into the group. I think they all ended up realizing that he was as Lost as the rest of them. He always pretended he was the man with answer, but he was always desperately looking for them himself. And I think Hurley was able to see that most of all. I think the reason he stayed behind was to spend my time with his "daughter" and perhaps try to forgive himself for all the hell he put her and Danielle through.


And Odo, I'd be really interested to see how you're impressions of all the characters change from their first appearances to the finale.

I'm thinking that Eko had already moved on. He had made peace with himself before his death.

As for my character impressions, I'd be happy to do that. You'll just have to wait until a little later. I'm about to head off to work.
