Neat pic!

(Except Kwon looked like Know to me :) )

I guess with a title like that, more deaths are expected in this ep. Has anybody created a poll for who will die in this ep? I am going to go out on a limb and predict that there will be 2 more deaths. I don't know who of course.

Are we frelling there yet?

Above Average.

This was much, much more interesting and intriguing than last week. Still not as exciting as the first act of previous 3 part finales but not bad. Not excellent, not great but solidly good. I still have my issues with certain creative decisions though.

I was definitely interested in what is altDes up to. What is his ultimate goal?

The fallout from the deaths of Jin/Sun:appropriate reactions from all the cast--necessary scene but it just did not resonate. I wasn't emotionally invested like I should have. This series just doesn't spend enough time on this stuff. It is treated like just one plot point in sea of plot points.

Things picked up a bit with Miles/Ben/Richard running into the lone survivors from the assault on hydra--Widmore and Zoe. This looked interesting since this is first time Ben learns Widmore, his mortal enemy, had succeeded in returning to the island since he was exiled in 92 and the last time both had come face-to-face in the flashforward in The "Shape of Things to Come". Plus first time since Ben made an attempt on Penny's life.

Richard buried Alex. I guess he was the one who buried Karl and Rousseau following Keamey's attack on them in Season 4--I always wondered about that when Miles came across that spot.

One of the questions I had was answered aout if Widmore working with Jacob or Smokey--it was Jacob who visited him like Ilana and allowed him to return to the island and be able to locate it. So he saw this coming for some time. I can definitely buy this is a case of strange bedfellows having shared interests--in this case stopping Smokey who supposedly threatens all life on the planet.

I wonder if Smokey killed Richard. Richard can be killed just not by his own hand. If so, chalk it up as another abrupt blink of an eye death along with Zoe and Widmore--characters are being treated like plotcannon fodder by the writers but who killed those people Sawyer ran arcoss in "Recon"? Widmore? Was Zoe lying?

Locke sure recovered quickly after his hit and run returning to teaching so soon. Maybe more time has passed than I thought.

Really interesting scene with four survivors and Jacob. Like the way Jacob was a substitute for the writers. If Jacob knew all of this was going to happen though why let Ben succeed in killing him.

Jack is the New Protector like I said last week so new Others the rest of the survivors. The Light hasn't gone out like some thought had happened last week. The New Protector must protect it from Smokey. This paves the way for us to finally see the Light Cave in all its glory next season. Continuity from last week with the way Jack became the protector but still don't like the hocus-pocus aspect of it--it is not technobabble but magicbabble.

There is Ana Lucia making nothing more than a cameo. I enjoyed seeing Mira Furlan again and not as a stark raving mad woman but instead someone capable of being nice to Ben rather than carting him around on a leash. All the alternate players are coming together.

Last bit of set-up. Des failsafe? How? How is this going to work. Are we going to learn about the ancient civilization, who built everything here. Will we get an Ilana/Jacob history lesson following up on his visit to her depicted in season finale last year or do we just fill it in ourselves as just one more person he contracts shit out to?

Sorta low-key for a next to last episode I thought.

Evengeline Lilly and Jorge Garcia implied that this episode was the first hour of the finale.

I liked it.

So... Jack is the new Jacob. And he's immortal too. No surprise there. The real question now is, what will he do?

Excellent

I was worried that as soon as Jacob sat them down it would be more double talk and non-answers. But I was pleasantly surprised to see a step forward. Can't wait for the 4 and half hours on Sunday.

3.5/4 Good setup. Can't believe Widmore was killed off so anti-climactically! They spend all this time building him up as the big bad, we learn how Jacob redeemed him... and whoopsie dead. And where's Miles? And is Richard dead? So cool to finally see the characters sitting down with Jacob like that. Jack being the new guardian was no surprise at all but I was expecting Hurley to get the Richard advisor role, or maybe even be the new Monster. Actually I think that'll happen in the finale. If the Mother was the monster before the Man in Black, then when he dies they'll need a new monster with the power to repel any invaders. Plus, how hilarious would be it be if Hurley became the new monster?

Excellent. I was definitely satisfied with it. All the characters are coming together and I can't wait to see how it plays out. Great stuff from Michael Emmerson.

wonder if Smokey killed Richard. Richard can be killed just not by his own hand. If so, chalk it up as another abrupt blink of an eye death along with Zoe and Widmore but who killed those people Sawyer ran arcoss in "Recon"? Widmore? Was Zoe lying?

Did not like Widmore's abrupt death. Felt like a waste of a character. I hope Richard isn't dead. Wonder what's up with Claire and Miles.

following Keamey's attack on them in Season 4--

Bolding mine. You realize there isn't another season, right?

Excellent from me :techman: The last hour episode of Lost did not dissapoint!

Oh I have no doubt that Ben is still a good guy. He's just going deep undercover and will stab Locke in the back at the critical moment, sacrificing himself to weaken/distract the Monster at the critical moment for Jack to deliver the killing blow. ... It's nice to see Desmond taking a final critical importance in the end as I've always loved the character and don't like how he kinda disappeared after Season Four.

I'm disappointed they didn't explore Widmore a little more. They could have just given him a single flashback episode.

Above Average. Good stuff. I've been really happy with the run of episodes since "Happily Ever After" and here's hoping the finale will keep the run.

The promo for next week sucked, though. I understand not wanting to show new clips but it didn't feel epic or anything.

Oh I almost forgot... we finally got to see Alt-Rosseau! Woo! It's weird to see Delenn in a dress with wrinkles on her face though...

Great episode.

I knew Jack was going to be the new Jacob but seeing that moment happen was so rewarding to watch. I like that Sawyer starting to come around to Jack's direction after the deaths of Jin, Sun, Sayid, and Lapidus. I still have this feeling that he is going to die on the island very soon. Jacob's reason for crossing off Kate's name makes sense since guarding the island isn't a safe job for a mother.

I continue to love the return of familiar faces from Lost's past, especially this week with the return of Anna-Lucia and Rousseau. Rousseau telling sideways Ben that Alex looks up to him as a father and seeing how Ben was moved by that was one of my favorite scenes of this episode.

I love how the Ben/Widmore conflict ended. No, it didn't end with an epic battle but it ended the same way it began: with revenge. I think Ben is pretending to be on the Smoke Monster's side until he gets his chance to take him down. I think he's going to use the Smoke Monster's need for solid form to his advantage. I think Richard is still alive and will stay alive until he goes out with a bang in the series finale.

It's so surreal that it won't be long until we watch the ending of the series and I have faith that it's going to be a good one.
