That'd be interesting, but Jack's flashforwards (other than "Through the Looking Glass," of course) have shown him to have no interest whatsoever in ever returning to the Island, so I doubt he's concerning himself with being proactive.

I had the same thing happen to me, my appendix burst, and I had it removed, but I was walking around a bit the next day, not to the extent Jack was, but I was moving about. Also, the discharge that Sawyer noticed on Jack happened to me as well. I was thinking 'Hey! That's happened to me! I'm tv worthy!"
That's a stretch. It's probably someone part of the crew.
More likely it's Sayid and Sun have a plan. Jack can't plan his way out of a wet paper bag without getting a paper cut.
It was a very "meh" episode for me. Seemed more like set-up for the season finale than anything else.
I'm really worried now on what's going to happen to Jin and what happened to Claire. Originaly I had just thought the "Oceanic 6" were the first group off the Island before it was "moved" and they couldn't go back for others. But now we've Jin and a handful of RedShirts off on the first wave. Doesn't look good for Jin.

I kind of assumed Sun was refering to herself when she blamed two people for Jin being on that plane.
I don't want Jin to die.

First time we've seen Hawaii playing Hawaii, right?
Sun's portentious look back to the hatch where she left Jin...sigh...dead giveaway that Jin doesn't make it. Probably dies in a valiant effort to stop the ship from blowing up. Michael will most likely die fighting alongside him. That would be an appropriate way to tie up the subplot of their rivalry/friendship.
And finally we get the payoff with Jack learning about Aaron and Claire! I think Claire has got to be alive on the Island...or present on the Island...in some form to motivate Jack to go back and rescue her. That might turn out to be his primary motive for going back - but probably not the only one.
That was my assumption, too. It could mean Sun was mistaken in her belief Jin is dead. But if the other guilty party is the person who killed him...
As for Kate's amazingly quick pregnancy...some enterprising reporter could find security footage from the Sydney airport that would show a rather skinny Kate boarding the plane. I don't know who these women are who can hide a pregnancy at six months, but it would be easier if you have some fat on your bones to begin with.
Of course, that assumes a reporter had any reason to doubt her story. The odd position of the alleged crash might be enough.

I think Michael is going to be around a while longer and will somehow survive, at least assuming the boat does indeed explode. This "island still needs him alive" story seems pretty important to me. I'm also not sure why they'd bring back Harold Perrineau and stick his name in the main credits, only to have him not show up for 7 episodes, then be in 3 or 4, then die. Plus I'm certain Walt is going to come back into play somehow, and it'd be nice to have Michael around for that.

Another random thought: was Hurley wielding the deadly Jesus statue a reference to the Jesus Stick?
I think they'll fake us out, and the boat won't explode. And if Jin and Michael are the ones who keep it from exploding, that would be an ironic reference to the raft. They just need Sawyer to join the party.
I think there's something really sinister lurking underneath the whole O6 story...those guys looked borderline terrified when Jack reminded them that they all knew the story at the beginning. Whatever it is that happens between the O6 getting off the island and this week's first scene is probably going to be some sort of harrowing experience for our heroes. I got the same feeling from Jack's meeting with Hurley back in the premiere...he was NOT happy to hear Hurley talk about the island, almost like Jack didn't even want someone to casually overhear them using the phrase "go back" or the word "island."
I'm guessing something Really Bad® is going to happen when the Jack of "Through The Looking Glass" (that's still the farthest into the future the show has gone, right?) rallies up the team to head back and the people/person/entity/whatever compelling them all lie finds out. There's got to be some sort of leverage in play here...whoever is in charge here must have the power to hurt the O6 if they ever tell the truth or try to go back, but I'm not sure how. Their lives? Their families? The people who stayed on the island? Or maybe something completely different and I'm way off base...wouldn't be the first time for this show to take me completely by surprise.
I like that idea a lot. The raft storyline still stands out as a highlight for this show, even after all the ridiculous stuff that's happened since then. Jin and Michael's rivalry turned friendship was a great relationship during this show's early days, and I hope to see it continue just a bit longer. Also I'm not really sure how the Oceanic 6 are going to get anywhere if that boat explodes...helicopters run out of fuel eventually, and that tiny little boat Sayid used and Daniel has now doesn't look too safe for an extended journey.

Average. This one was surprisingly flat. Yeah, it had to setup the situation but they had all season for that. Setup can and should be entertaining. It's not a legit excuse.
However, I believe this is the first time I gave an average for an episode of Lost this season. That's quite an astounding run. If anyone knows my ratings, they know that I'm pretty stringent. I haven't relaxed my standards. Shows have to be good in all areas to get "above averages" and amazing in all areas to get an "excellent."
The fact that the fourth season of Lost could make it all the way to the 12th episode before getting it's first average from me is quite outstanding. Kudos to the writers. (It's possible I'm forgeting an episode early this season?)
As for the episode. Not much to say. Mostly just there. Filled the gap between the last one and the next one without being boring but not that entertaining.

As I watched this, it was clear the writers saved the reunions for this filler episode hoping that it would lift an otherwise dull episode that doesn't progress the storyline. Seeing reunions that by now we knew must've taken place is just lazy writing to fill a gap. It's no reason to boost an episodes review. At least not for me. I expect a bit more from writers.

I kept rewinding that part over and over again, the music made it! And to think, this guy is doing the music for Star Trek.
I think just the people on the island could serve as leverage. They're "family" now, even if they weren't before. Even Sawyer.
Jack learning that he does have family on the island (assuming Claire is alive or simply "missing") was a gut-punch for him, but I'm sure he'd be worrying about, say, Rose and Bernard anyway. And is Juliet still alive on the island? (I hope so!)
But I think they're also in shock due to some deaths (Jin being a high-ranking candidate - tho I could see that being a red herring) that happened in the course of their escape, and depending on the whole "move the island" scenario, they might also see concrete evidence that reality is not what they've assumed it to be...
The person appears to be wearing a green jumpsuit with a patch on the left arm, so I'm going to say that it is just a member of the Coast Guard aircrew.
