I wonder when we're going to find out whose in the coffin. My guess is still Michael.

Well, if I remember the end of season three correctly, didn't Jack read about the death in the paper? It was a big article about whoever it was that died. It was news.

And if that is correct, then why would it be Michael? He's not one of the Oceanic 6, so he's not famous. There is no reason of there to be a big article on him in the paper. Not unless something big happens between the time the Oceanic 6 get back (that we saw last episode) and the time when Jack is in bad shape (Something like Michael also being discovered as a survivor.)

But if nothing crazy like that happens, then I don't think it can be Michael (unless he is murdered in a crazy way that makes the news).

It would have to be someone else. We know it is not Kate. It wouldn't be Hurley (unless he looses all his money and all his family die, and everyone doesn't like him any more). The same goes for Sun. It's not Aaron or Jack.

So that leave Sayid. I don't know what he might do to upset everyone so they wouldn't want to go to the funeral, but it might have something to do with helping Ben (if Jack, Kate and the Others find out about that.) Sayid has no one left in his life, so no one would be at the funeral.

But I don't think it is him either. He's to valuable of a character in the series now. In the future he's the only one doing interesting things that tie in with the main plot of the show.

So I'm not sure who it could be.

Maybe it's Abandon?

It would have been cool to show Jack throwing out the first pitch at a Red Sox game or something as part of his new celibrity status.

I'm voting for Ben simply because the island has replaced him as "the chosen one" with Locke. I think they're winding his character down.

Kind of an odd impression to get, I'd think. In "The Economist," we learned that Ben was bankrolling assassinations and having Sayid carry them out. In "The Shape of Things to Come," we learned that Ben is waging war against Widmore. I'd say that Ben is safe at least until the Oceanic Six return to the Island.

I doubt it's Ben (for the reasons PsychoPerestated) and I doubt it's Sayid because why would Kate be against going to his funeral (even if she found out he was working for Ben).

I honestly have no idea who it will be.

Winding the character down? He's pretty much become the main character of this show behind Jack.

I actually think the show's killed enough characters not to kill any for a while. But that probably won't happen. I don't want to see Juliet get killed but she would seem to be a likely candidate after Jin.

I agree, it's not Ben. My best guess is Michael which knowing Lost probably means it's Desmond or someone else totally unexpected.

I second that motion! :D

Desmond can't die! That would frak up the plotline with Penny something awful.

Unless the hints that "death isn't what it seems to be" mean that Desmond dying won't mean the plotline with Penny is over...

Here's what I read from eonline:

I found out earlier this week what happens in the finale and in a series that is continually shocking, I have never been quite so shocked.
Even moreso than the Lookingglass switcheroo? There's going to be some HUGE revelation about the nature of reality not being what everyone's assumed it is.

Groan. It's going to be a long two weeks.

I think Locke is in the coffin. If you look at the screencap of the person on the Oceanic cargo plane background it looks like a bald white man. If Locke were taken from the Island and separated forever, unable to walk, he would definitely kill himself. He was gonna do it in "Looking Glass", remember.

Why isn't Locke one of the O6? Because he has to stay out of the public eye. Why? Because him walking would be a medical miracle and draw attention to the Island.

One other thing I forgot to mention... Why was there a bed in a room adjacent to the front door in the Reyes household? Seems like an odd place to put a bedroom in such a big house.
