Hi, I was wondering, how many posts does it take for your avatar to appear? Do you need 101 or 100? I can't seem to get mine to appear even though the link works.

The server takes a while to update your 'status' - probably 15 minutes max.

Thanks, I hope so. I just double checked the size and it is smaller than 100x100 so it should be okay.

Plus I uploaded the avatar a while ago (like 1 month), so I hope it does work.

I've seen avatars around here which I think are larger than 80 x 80 pixels. So, I thought I'd ask to make sure the avatar size is still the same.

It says in the FAQ:

This must be no more than 20KB - 60k for animated gifs - and 80x80 pixels at maximum, and must not contain any copyrighted materials.

Is it 80 x 80? Or is the FAQ old?

I'll make sure that info get's passed along to our Tech Adminn, Charles Capps. As you no doubt have already figured out, the avatar max was indeed increased to 100 x 100 pixels just this week.

Every time I try to get my avatar I keep getting a "Improper Picture Type" message. The image I choose is 94 X 100 so it's small enough and it's well below the max KB. And it's jpeg. What am I doing wrong?

Are you allowed to directly link to images on that web host?

Is your url correct? This is what you have for it at the moment:

Lupine (nice nick!) appears to be using www.imageshack.us which is designed for remote linking.

For example. my av is at
http://img93.exs.cx/img93/2558/StrontiumDog-gronkonly-av5.jpg
When I try connecting to
http://img105.exe.cx/img105/6204/thearax.jpg
I get "Could not locate remote server."
If I rename the exe to exs, it redirects me to imageshack. (no avatar at that exact address)

Maybe one of their servers went down, or there's a typo. If you signed up with them, see if there's a typo. If you didn't, reupload it to imageshack (it'll be a different address).

Yup, my problems were all typos. Because of my DOS days I was writing down "exe" instead of "exs". I also found that I was using a lower case "t" instead of the upper case "T". Thanks for the help. My avatar's now up. What do you think?

Yeah I have to agree. Nice av but it could be darkened to make it more visible.
