There was talk a few years back about the possiblity of a Jetsons live action movie. Do you think it will ever happen or is it just too corny? If so, who would you like to see playing the characters?

Will Ferrell would be all over this! 
Yeah I think Will Farrell was attached early on as George Jetson...he'd be perfect for the role. Amy Adams for Jane Jetson, Kristen Bell as Judy, not really sure for Elroy. CGI dog for Astro. Danny DeVito for Mr. Spacely would be my picks. Not really read much on this. Probably back in development hell.

I think Amy Adams is too young to play Jane & have Kristen Bell for a teenage daughter.
Meh...Amanda Seyfreid then for Judy, I'm drawing a blank when it comes to Jane then, I chose Amy because I'm a big fan of hers and can see her working really well with Will.
Although I don't have much interest in The Jetsons in particular, I have thought for awhile that it would be fun to see a comedy or adventure show set in a retro-futuristic setting, portraying what we thought the future would look like back in the fifties, but done with modern special effects. A Jetsons adaptation might be a good opportunity to do that, although it is not quite what I had in mind.
Personally, I think you need somebody more like Steve Carrell for George. George seems too domestic and milquetoast for Farrell.
William H. Macy would have made a good George Jetson a few years ago. He still might, but I'm sure they'll want to go with a younger more contemorary name even if that person doesn't fit the part.

Yeah, William H. Macy strikes me as a bit too old for the part of George Jetson. I'm picturing more Paul Bettany. But Danny Devito has to be Mr Spacely, there's no doubt about it.
I seem to remember seeing a CGI test of Rosie somewhere that I can't find anywhere.

It wouldn't be very Jetsons-y, but I'd love to see a serious, fairly realistic (though still humorous) look at a future society that has all the whiz-bang stuff we thought we were supposed to have by 2010: robot maids, sky cities on stilts, flying cars and all the rest. They should set it in the year 2010 (or whatever year the movie comes out) as an alternate reality.

They're almost twenty years too old, George and Jane were supposed to be in their mid to late 30s. Tom Hanks is 54, kind of old to be playing a mid level button-pusher with a 16 and a 7 year old.
