In the 50's through the 80's we had an antenna rotor, and got 15 channels. Three of them were NBC stations.I could choose to watch Star Trek from Fresno, Santa Cruz or Sacramento.

TOS “Trouble with Tribbles”. One of the most delightful episodes of any Trek series. Watching it now, you’d almost swear it was made for having DS9 characters inserted into the story 30 years later.
