Had a 12 hour drive home from our trip to Savannah, GA for New Year's so I watched a bunch of DS9 episodes.
"Chrysalis" - DS9
MEH.
"Treachery, Faith, and the Great River" - DS9
The A plot was fine, but the B plot with Nog and O'Brien was really fun. Love the concept of the Material Continuum.
"Once More Unto the Breach" - DS9
I remember liking it when I watched it but don't think it's particularly memorable.
"The Siege of AR-558" - DS9
One of the finest war stories I've ever seen. I love that DS9 takes war seriously and doesn't glamorize it. Hard to watch at times. At once brutal and tender. You could never see this in another Trek, except maybe DSC. But much as I love DSC, it hasn't gotten this real with its war stories yet. One of the best episodes of television I've ever seen, nevermind just DS9 or Trek. Bravo.
"Covenant" - DS9
This one felt like it had pacing issues, but it's nice to see Dukat up to no good.
"It's Only a Paper Moon" - DS9
Also add this one to my favorite episodes of television. I absolutely love what this show has done with Nog. And to think, going into DS9 for the first time last year, I HATED Ferengi. HATED them. Now I love them, because they're not just cringe-worthy jokes (most of the time). Nog is one of my favorite characters in all of Trek. This was a heartfelt, thoughtful, and powerful episode. Truly moved me. And James Darren knocked it out of the park as Vic Fontaine. I could watch the DS9 crew hang out with Vic all day.
