You must watch this episode without thinking too much about the meaning of the story, because it's just stupid, whereas the episode is rather enjoyable otherwise. We get to see the guy from "The Corbomite Maneuver".

Malcolm watches Major Hayes' eyes instead of his hands. When T'Pol begins comparing sexuality to a laboratory experiment, it sounds like Seven of Nine dialogue.

There's also the guy that walks through walls.

ENT: Oasis, streamed on Netflix.

It took me about 10 seconds to figure out that the crew were holograms. This episode reminded me a little of The Cage, with a nice callback to Voyager ("whaddya gonna do if she gets hurt, program a holographic doctor?"), and of course it was great to see Rene Auberjonois.

Another technological advancement that the enterprise crew refused to take advantage of. Archer must have received specific instructions. "Whatever you do, don't ask passing aliens about their holodeck technology."
