List of Star Trek Characters in 2387

Hey all, I've been hoping for a new Star Trek television series... been thinking of writing some fan fiction to fill that void. So I've taken up a little project.

Let's assume that there's a new series that takes place after TNG-DS9-VOY timeline. The last we've seen of that era is 2387 (where Romulus is destroyed in Star Trek XI). I'm trying, using canon and non-canon sources to get a good approximation of where all our favorite characters are at that time. This list will be, by no means perfect, or even accurate, but it could be considered a starting point for where these people are should we revisit them in a new series or project.

If you've read the novels, play Star Trek: Online, or simply would like to speculate, or include a character that I've forgotten, please reply!

Just a question....why not create all your own characters in your own privately-owned corner of fanon?

I'll give you a point to start-off from.

148-year old Captain Morgan Bateson from TNG "Cause & Effect" & "Ship Of The Line", with a new crew of veterans and novice ensigns in 2387. "Bulldog" Bateson, appointed to the Corps of Engineers and assigned to a new starship in the Merian-Class lineage. To start him off slowly in a new century, get him accustomed to Modern Day Starfleet and not put too much needle-focused pressure/responsibility on him.

A whole series of very nice novels are set following Kirk's supposed death. In the real world, and from the example of Ezra Dax, people leave behind their former lives, reinvent themselves, and have second careers.

In some fan fiction, Uhura left communications and life aboard a starship. behind her and became involve with Starfleet intelligence.

Please, don't feel like (if you use a existing character) you have to have to keep them in the same roles they originated in.

Honestly, that's what I've done. In my stories, Kes has teamed up with a bunch of ex-Maquis.

Honestly, that's what I've done. In my stories, Kes has teamed up with a bunch of ex-Maquis.

that they would have to bring this Maquis, with the doctor was there,./And they had to bring out these other people from a program that somebody else was in,... and in the end they got most of them out of stasis,. Generally speaking, the Enterprise NX crew hasn't been expanded upon much. However, both Tucker and Reed continue to do a lot with Section 31. Tucker is never seen alive by anyone else from Enterprise NX except Reed. Reed later expresses to T'Pol how much Tucker love(d)(s) her.

Archer eventually becomes the first president of the Federation.

At some point Travis goes on to captain his own ship long after he leaves service of Archer. He also at some point moves to another ship for about a year.

Kirk eventually actually comes back to life but I don't know the exact details. He's riding around on his own ship again.

McCoy has in fact retired and is the only character who doesn't have something super strange happen to him.

Scotty eventually comes out of retirement and is made a high ranking officer in the Starfleet core of engineers. At some point he eventually "temporarily" is appointed as the senior admiral of the Core of Engineers. He never wanted the position, but he continues to do it since no one else has come forward to do the job. If I am not mistaken, during 2387, LaForge becomes Scotty's 1st officer on the USS Challenger (Flag ship of the CoE) for a duration. He does go back to the Enterprise during Full Circle.

Checkov is currently (as of 2409) serving as the admiral general of Star Fleet security (this is in the DS9 bible).

Sulu is currently (as of 2409) serving as admiral of Star Fleet general (this is in the DS9 bible).

Uhara is currently (as of 2409) serving as admiral of Star Fleet intelligence (this is outright refereed to in TNG and DS9).

Rand is currently (as of 2377) serving as a rear admiral. She is even seen on screen in TNG (Episode Journey's End).

Picard is still serving on the Enterprise. He retires in 2387 and becomes an Ambassador.
Riker is still on the Titan.
Worf has moved on from the Enterprise by 2387, but I dont know what he's doing after 2385.
Crusher had resigned her commission and married to Picard at this point. In 2385 she reinstated her commission and was assigned Captain of the Pasteur.
Data is currently Captain of the Enterprise 1701-E. He goes on to be captain of the Enterprise 1701-F from commission to decommission.
Troi is still on the Titan.

Pulaski is in charge of some space station some place. She was offered the Enterprise again when Beverly left Star Fleet. She declined noting she was sick of space.
Ogawa becomes the CMO of Titan at some point. She's not the initial CMO.
Lwaxanna becomes Betazeds Federal Council Member.
Shelby is a captain on the USS Sutherland.
Barclay has done a ton by this point. I think he's heading up Holography program by this point.

Sisko has returned long since 2387. He's currently captain of the USS Robinson. He's no longer the Emissary. His daughter is the Avatar of Peace.
Kira is in fact a Vedek.
Bashir has joined Section 31. Recently as of 2387 if I am not mistaken.
Dax - You're dead on. Its note worthy the Aventide is one of the most important ships in the fleet just now.
O'Brian (since he really belongs here instead!) Is, as far as I know still at the Academy. He has a few other adventures, but he doesn't leave that post.
Nog is currently chief of security of DS9. He has been on the Challenger with Scotty and LaFroge for different assignments.

Elias Vaughn is currently the captain of DS9
Ro Laren is currently the XO of DS9.

Oof, Voyager kind of goes around in a lot of different stuff.

Janeyway is long since dead by 2387. She was assimilated and turned into the Borg Queen.
Chakotay is in fact the captain of Voyager.
Paris is also in fact the first officer of Voyager.
B'Elanna and Miral are doing something in the Klingon Empire. Unsure of specifics.
Harry Kim is on target.
Annika has floated all over the place by this point. She doesn't exactly have a fixed post.
The Doctor is in the same boat as Annika. It's note worthy in 2389 he is officially given the rank of Lt. Cmdr. and is officially considered a person at that point.
Tuvok is the 1st officer of Titan at this point.

Naomi is in Star Fleet at this point, By 2409 she holds the rank of Commander.
Chell is on the Enterprise and is in charge of their emergency response team.
Admiral Paris is dead.
Ensign Vorik is on the Entperirse.

Since Bateson is mentioned, he's actually something of a noteworthy character these days.

He was in charge of building the USS Sovereign which was renamed to the USS Enterprise 1701-E after the Enterprise D went down. He was the shake down captain of the USS Sovereign.

He was given his own Sovereign class, the USS Atlas in 2381.

Also, remember that jerk, Captain Jellico. Yea, he's an admiral now.

I'm afraid you are mistaken.

Rand's last chronological appearance was in 2293 as a Lieutenant JG/Lieutenant Commander on the Excelsior. It was Admiral Nechayev in "Journey's End".

Grace Lee Whitney's last appearce in Trek was in "Flashback" in 1996.

Going by what was mentioned in the epiosde "Miri", by 2387 she would be 155. I would say she (and all the other human TOS characters) would either be dead or retired.
