Yeah, I mostly agree. But it goes well with the look of the show. If they will air it with English subtitles, I will probably tune into it (my Spanish is really limited) Now I'm terrified that they could do something similar in Italy. Given the level of our televised fiction (i.e. abysmal), I just don't want to see it.it does look a bit low budgetWell, maybe you might enjoy La chica de ayer, the brand new Spanish version of Life on Mars.
Now try to imagine how terrible it was for someone who learned English as a second language.
But the show was great, so it was worth the hassle.
Of course these same people were convinced that Ozzy Osbourne lives in a castle and Britain is a continent because it has more than 1 country.
I was tempted, it was pretty much impossible to convince them they were talking shit though. I also noticed that hardly anyone in shops or out in public even attempted to understand me, just about everything I said was met with a "huh?" How much is this? huh? cheese and bacon sub, please. huh? How come it's more at the till than it says on the price tag? huh? It was bloody annoying. I suppose if I went to a more touristy place they might have been more used to accents though.
I was thinking the same thing. I've been there once, and according to the people I was staying with America is the only country in the world without accents, everyone speaks neutral English. I said "So someone from New York sounds like someone from Louisiana or Texas then?" and they told me "Well apart from the East Coast, and the South, no one has an accent." I had to laugh and
