Hated Avery Brooks' acting.
Hated "Far Beyond the Stars" and "In the Pale Moonlighted"
Thought he was the worst Star Trek actor of all time, he was impossible to watch sometimes.
My least favorite Star Trek captain.
Just hated hated hated hated hated his acting!

I agree that his performance in "Far Beyond the Stars" is way over the top, but I could not disagree more about his performance in "In The Pale Moonlight". He really delivers the goods in "Moonlight" In some ways, Brooks reminds me of Shatner. They are both very good actors and have done some really good work on Trek, but they have not been the most consistent, particularly as compared to Patrick Stewart who comes across as an actor's actor.

ODO FAN: I've been saying Brooks was like Shatner for years! They both are over-the-top, sometimes in a bad way, but mostly in a good way. Sisko is, like Spock said of Kirk, "a man of deep feelings." So that justifies the occasional melodramatic performance. -- RR
