Let's say Marvel and DC were to merge universes.

It all works out nicely, until Galactus decides that it is time to eat up Apokalips.

He tried that one time and found it was too dead to be worth eating or something and just left.

Yup. In the "The Hunger" crossover by John Byrne.

Too bad... I was looking forward to some "heartburn" or "spicy" jokes about Galactus and Apokolips. "Hey Galactus, does Uranus burn after eating Apokolips? Hahahaha."

Okay, better jokes than that.

Maybe instead of wanting to steal the Power Cosmic from the Silver Surfer, Dr Doom tries to go to Apokolips to steal the Omega Effect from Darkseid?

Dr. Strange and Dr. Fate team up to battle the evil that is the team of Dormammu and Mordru. Guest starring the LSH and Clea.

^The Hulk is busy fighting the Shaggy Man and the Silver Surfer is caught between the Skrulls and the Durlans.

^But it would only be a Doombot so that would be ok. In point of fact I dont even think there is a real Doom anymore, he died in the explosion back in college. Richards after turning his family into freaks created the Doom persona in robot form to make his family look like heroes.

^The same way the Beyonder did?

Could the Beyonder possess people or almost suck the entire multiverse into some kind of black hole thing.

Not to mention Doom would have to actually get to him first which means going through his gauntlet of minions.

I would think Doom is smart enough to know that going after a power than for all we know would kill him anyway that he has to fight the god of evil to get wouldn't be a good idea.

^But it would only be a Doombot so that would be ok.

Just like if Darkside kicked Thantos's ass it would be a clone.

At least Darkside would have the balls to admit he got his ass kicked.

And also when comparing a Marvel villain to Darkside ask yourself one question.

How many of them are the deity of their own freakin religion?

^Thanos is. He's also an avatar Death.

p.s. He's immortal because Death will not allow him in her realm.

Same thing happened to Lobo, he caused so much havoc in Hell that he got kicked out and isn't allowed back in. So he can't die, really.

No, Marvel's Thanos is not an avatar of Death, just a fanboy of Death.

From your link:

wikipedia said:
A cocoon protected by the Universal Church of Truth is revealed to be hiding Thanos, who has been chosen by Oblivion to be the new Avatar of Death.

In a nutshell: during the Thanos Imperative he was resurrected (per Death/Oblivion) to act as her avatar against the forces of life from the "Cancerverse".

I think that's misusing the word "avatar," though. An avatar isn't a separate being acting as an agent of a deity -- it's the actual deity incarnated in a corporeal form. So you can't become the avatar a god if you had a previous existence as a mortal. At best, I suppose the deity could possess you, but that's still fudging the definition.

Like after he kills Darkseid and takes over Apokolips?

You think immortality mean crap to Darkseid, he'll just teleport him to some crappy universe, seriously one of his powers is lazer beams that do whatever to hell he wants them to.

I mean seriously Darkseid is a guy for whom death is an inconvenience for at best.
