Leonard Nimoy's Health

We love you, Leonard!

You've touched our hearts and enriched our lives.

We hope for the best, and wish you a speedy recovery!

This is threaded elsewhere. He looks good to me. When I am in my 80s, I want to be wheeled through airports. They are friggin' huge.

Unfortunately, time catches up with all of us. It'll be a shock to me when Shatner and Nimoy move on from this world. They've been a central part of my life since I was four-years old. :(

it's not surprising that a man in his early eighties is not in the best of health. I hope he is doing well but it would not surprise me if he is not.

About 1/3 of the living TOS actors are over 80 and the vast majority of those younger were very young actors who played mostly bit parts as random crewpersons.

So the fact is that the next 10 years will see almost every important figure in TOS leave us.

A very sobering thought.

If he's doing his own tweeting (and it seems to me he is), he is still of very sound mind.

My thoughts exactly. Down to every word you wrote!

Mr. Nimoy just tweeted,"@TheRealNimoy: I quit smoking 30 yrs ago. Not soon enough. I have COPD. Grandpa says, quit now!! LLAP"

I'm hoping for the best for him.

Meanwhile, Shatner is still climbing buildings to defend the honor of his daughter. Clearly he made a deal with the Devil.

^ I just saw the full run of Fringe and I was impressed that Nimoy was in such great shape, so this news does come as a surprise. But as others above said, he's not a young man anymore. Still, I wish him the best.

You've summed it up perfectly for me as well, though they have been a big part of my life since I was five years-old. I've periodically pondered losing the remaining TOS cast. Time waits for no one. Nimoy may have looked and sounded good three, four years ago on Fringe....but at his advanced age sometimes it just sneaks up on you suddenly.

Me too!

I must agree as well, I have watched these two actors since I was six. I had no idea that Leonard ever smoked at all.:(

My dad has COPD as well from smoking for 40 years, horrible disease. Best wishes to mr Nimoy!
