Least Favourite DS9 Character?

Worf.

He never had a specific role--he was there only to boost ratings. When that failed, he just lingered around. DS9 didn't need a chief of security because they had one--Odo. DS9 didn't need a person to relate or integrate with Klingons because they had one--Jadzia.
DS9 didn't need a first officer because Sisko has a great one in Major Kira.

He was relegated to some weird situations like being a so-called Captain of the Defiant. It didn't take long for him to fuck up and fire upon a civilian ship and later put on trial for it. He shacked up with Jadzia when it was established he was with Troi; but these are the things that happen to a pointless character when the writers are creatively bankrupt.

Even at the end of the series the writer show how meaningless his relationship Jadzia was; his memories was solely with Ezri. Ezri Dax??? Wow. Also in the ep. he was supposedly an Ambassador to the Klingons, but in Star Trek Nemesis it was all forgotten.

I can't imagine the writers doing that to any of the other character of Trek, but a lame duck like Worf.

Captain of the Defiant would have been a reasonable job... but he wasn't. Every time they went on a sensitive mission, Sisko or Jadzia commanded. A lot of the time Worf was serving as first officer of the IKS Rotarran. If he was really captain he should have been on his ship pretty much all the time. So I agree about that one. But the rest, no, I think he was a worthwhile and interesting character, much more so than on TNG.

I forgive them for leaving Jadzia out of the montage in the finale; that wasn't the writers' idea.

I will also assume he and Troi split up when he was reassigned to DS9. Just because the breakup wasn't shown on the screen doesn't mean it didn't happen.

And Nemesis isn't a Star Trek movie. It's just fan fiction with a bigger than usual budget.

All Worf is good Worf in my book. I was pleased to see him get more screentime on DS9 than he did on TNG. I loved Worf and Jadzia together. The TNG movies gave him next to nothing to do just like Beverly and Geordi. I thank DS9 for giving Worf so much to do.

Worf and Troi

split up in the litverse: Imzadi II, if I'm not mistaken. With some influence of Lwaxana....

I have to say it became Jake. I didn't mind him at all until he became a "reporter". I think that began to create a sort of distance between him and the other characters and make him more of an annoyance. They should have kept his character an author in my opinion.

They lost Jake after Season 4 in my opinion.

The Visitor sort of wrapped up his character arc. He got the odd episode here and there after that but by Season 7 he was very much sidelined and on the outskirts of the cast. Characters like Nog and Garak were more important to the ensemble at this point.

I disliked Jake as a reporter because he became annoying but in general I thought he was okay. Easily my least favourite of the main cast but I didn't hate him at all. He was just underused.
