Law & Order: Los Angeles - 10 Sneak Peeks

I have to admit I was skeptical at first, but I think NBC has a real hit right here. I notice a very different tone than the other L&O's. While the original and SVU move at a very fast pace with always something going on in the background or somebody yelling, the two detective leads have some quiet conversations in these clips. Also, there's no overbearing music like there is in Criminal Intent. I'm impressed so far and can't wait to check out the premiere.

I really enjoyed the two SVU episodes this week. This could be a comeback year for Law & Order franchise.

I hope LOLA still has the familiar type of opening narration and at least some variation of the classic credits theme tune (i.e. Mike Post's L&O theme).

And it's GOT to have the text captions and the doink-doink. :techman:

I'm sure it will. That's something they don't want to mess with. I'm surprised I haven't seen the theme song leaked yet. I bet it's good.

It's set in Los Angeles, so some big time music sensation will be rapping over the theme song because he "sampled' it. :)

Since Criminal Intent has been using Trial By Jury's theme, perhaps LOLA can use CI's old one? That fuzz guitar would work pretty well for a place like L.A.

I guess I'll be the odd duck in the threads for this show because I have never seen a single L&O before now. Not sure what to expect, but the cast is good enough that I can't not check it out. :D

I was initially pissed at this show because I blamed it for getting the original series cancelled. However, Alfred Molina & Terrance Howard on the prosecution side will be enough to get me watching for a little while at least. (Though I doubt anyone will ever be able to top Jack McCoy & Michael Cutter.)

BTW, I missed the season premiere of SVU. (I went with my mother to the emergency room. She's fine, but it took us 6 hours to find that out.) What's the current ADA situation on there? It seemed like Grelek wasn't around for very long and Cabot's return was even shorter. Then there was that drunk woman, and then Sharon Stone. Do they have a new permanent one or what?

They've got a temporary ADA set to appear, then someone is joining as a regular later. However, neither case went to trial this week and no ADA ever showed up.

I'll check it out. None of the "Law and Order" shows are 'appointment TV' for me, but I enjoy them well enough to give it a go. I do hope that they differentiate it enough from the other shows to make it seem special.
