I returned from a trip to Vancouver a couple weeks ago, and I picked up some cool classics:
The Gold Rush
The Great Dictator
as well as Unknown Chaplin, a 3-part documentary series featuring outtakes from Chaplin's famous films.
I've been on a classic movie kick for awhile now. Just before going to Vancouver I purchased the Louise Brooks classic, Pandora's Box. And last weekend I bought the Kino Video restored version of Metropolis. Haven't had time to watch it yet, though.
I've had to turn to Amazon more frequently as my local Best Buys and Future Shops aren't bothering to order many of the DVDs I'm interested in. No one bothered to bring in last week's DVD release of the 1970s TV series Isis, so I ordered it from Amazon. Same with the Louise Brooks film Diary of a Lost Girl which I ordered yesterday after trying and failing to find it anywhere for sale here in this city of a million people.
(But if I want a copy of My Super Sweet 16, they are everywhere.)
Cheers!
Alex
