Last movie you saw?

Faith Based is free right now on Prime. It's about a slacker who decides to do something with his life by making a Christian movie because of how profitable they are no matter how bad even though he doesn't know the first thing about filmmaking. And he'll split the money with his adoptive father who is a pastor so he can save the church.

I wanted to like this film. Christian filmmaking is ripe for the picking because of how phony and poorly made they are, how they preach to the choir and feed into a persecution complex with straw man villains and absurd plots. And so many people of the Fox News and Breitbart ilk were offended by the movie before it even came out, so that's more bonus points.

But it felt a little too amateur hour, even with actors like Lance Reddick and Jason Alexander in it. And it wasn't as biting as it could've been. Felt a little too lightweight and thin, and the moviemaking part ended up being the least interesting aspect of it. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive though, so I guess I'm in the minority.

Have to give it credit for how it portrayed one character becoming a Christian. Much better than anything starring Kevin Sorbo or Dean Cain would've done.

OMG never thought anyone would bring up Christian movies here...... You should see some of what is available... There's a whole series of them that feed into the persecution complex thing, with whole armies on Earth against the poor downtrodden christians. I think that was the focus of one particular series.

They're just all so bad. The people making these "Christian movies" only care about the first word and not the second word. And if you say anything negative about these movies, their fanbase will accuse you of hating their religion.

Rewatched Logan. Still awesome, but didn't care for them having the actual comics on the film. Our world and the comic book world should be separated. But that's a minor complaint. Didn't take away from the show.

Any word on the sequel? I am assuming there will be one. Hopefully the kids are teenagers by then and have developed their abilities a bit better.

It was I think the "Left Behind" movies I think they made a whole series of those.

Zac Snyder's Justice League over on HBOMax. Somewhere in that 4+ hours of run time, was a really good 2.5 to 3 hour movie waiting to come out.... Overall, better than the 2017 movie. I enjoyed it.

That's actually a pretty common thing in the comics, and I think some of the adaptations. I believe there is a version of Marvel in the comics that publishes comics about the characters in the comics.

Nope, and there probably won't be one. Now that they can add them to the MCU, Disney & Marvel are mostly going to start over from scratch. The only series that is going to continue is Deadpool, and they are only able to get away with that because of how meta the whole series is.

Watched the new Tom and Jerry movie yesterday, and I enjoyed. It wasn't spectacular, but it was pretty cute. I just started watching the original cartoons on MeTV, so I couldn't resist checking it out.

King Kong vs. Godzilla over on HBOMax. Pretty much exactly what one would expect going in .... Big CGI monsters destroying a CGI city with paper thin human characters providing exposition... Turn off your mind and grab some popcorn.

I watched Godzilla vs Kong yesterday, and I really enjoyed it.

Do you mean Raya and the Last Dragon? I'm waiting for it to go free.

Raya that's the one, yes I meant that one.

The trailers for Kong vs Godzilla have me interested. In one part a guy says they need Kong but then other stuff happens. Why do they need Kong and not Godzilla?

The original trilogy gave me the impression both of them are not really bad guys.

So, over Easter weekend, I watched (in order as I watched them):

- A Fistful of Dollars
- The Professionals
- Wonder Woman 1984
- Godzilla vs. Kong
