Did "No Hard Feelings" last night. I was unprepared to see a completely nude Jennifer Lawrence suplex some shmuck as another opponent punches her as hard as she can into Jennifer's completely unboscured business area. I'm too old to care. What I was thinking "Is this a protest against the X-Men movies, for making all that money from pretend nude kungfu back when Jennifer was young Mstique?"
It's like any art. It speaks to some, doesn't speak to others. I once found myself powerfully moved by a sculpture at the Lego Art exhibit at Seattle Center. Still can't explain why.
Elemental on Disney+. Actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Is it Pixar's best?. No, it's not. Is it a pretty good movie? Yup, I thought so.. 7/10
The Meg 2 - Very Silly cheesefest, but enjoyable if you can suspend belief, i mean, come on, 25000 feet and Jason Statham can just go for a swim with no protection at all. Still cant expect realism when he's going to take on Megs with his bare hands, enjoyed it all the same.
I watched the new Haunted Mansion movie this morning, and I really liked. The tone of it reminded me a bit of the Ghostbusters movies, in a good way.
I watched the Assassin's Creed movie this morning, which was OK. I enjoyed more or less, but I'm glad I only spent $4 off of a gift card to rent it on Prime Video, and didn't spend $18 of my own money to see it in the theaters with my mom.
I watched Ready Player One on Hulu earlier this week, and I really enjoyed it. I don't know if it was necessarily one of Spielberg's best, but it was good. I can't imagine what it must have taken to the rights for all of the characters and references we see in The Oasis.
As some of you may know, I don't really do the theatre thing anymore. I finally got to see Barbie this weekend. Glad to see it lived up to the hype!
In theatres? I don’t imagine, although I haven’t checked. I don’t go to theatres anymore, so I usually only get to see things well after their theatrical run.
The marvels It's a good movie imo, the scène with Spoiler the flerken eating everyone was hilarious. FYI, the is 1 after credits scène. I give it a 8/10
There’s Something About Mary. Matt Dillon steals the show for me. In the 90s Ben Stiller was perfect for roles where everything goes wrong for him. “none of this ever happened to Woogie”
Not technically, no. At least that has been our policy with Star Trek-related trailers, so I presume it would extend to trailers generally. However, since mods don’t necessarily see every trailer out there, sometimes we have to make judgement calls, and it’s usually safer to err on the side of caution. People can get touchy about spoilers.
