Larry Nemecek’s Trek Land

Hello, Thread from 2023:
I'm crossing the Temporal Date Line to let yo know that
a) I just came across this thread, and I'm amazed (And this explains much, TimOfNine )
b) Now that we have moved and my archives are all started to be in one place and accessible, I may just go hunt all my Kitbash Navy slides and see what I truly have that's never been unseen
and most of all
c) Thanks all for your Trekland Tuesdays LIVE interest— the liveshow stays up with ALL the added chat after topic, but the edited theme-only edition is up 3-4 days later by weekend
c.1 ) AND that we've had more and more guests on in recent months
c.2) AND ditto for The Trek Files, and to say the whole series is now easily searchable thanks to a partnership and an expanded page on Memory Alpha with audio player, documents of the week, guest listed— all easily scrollable, and with hot links back into MA.
c.3) AND TTF finally has a decent community on Discord,m where I do an TTF-focused Trekofiles Tonight on the Mission Log Discord LIVE platform (as a Roddenberry podcast). That however is at midnight UK time, every other Monday, sorry — it was a compromised time slot all around. You access witht eh $1.month MIssion Log Patreon (and get ALL the Roddenberry podcast community and live streams, not just TTF).

Sorry to drop all that *kablooooie*...but I was so shocked and tickled to find this thread. It needed an update. Even if no one kept it going. Trek well!

Welcome back, Larry.

Normally the rule is no bumping old threads that have been quiet for over a year, but we'll make an exception this one time.

Hey Firebird! Believe it or not, I *just* stumbled into this thread and have been fascinated by this two-year-old convo— which already feels ancient. Was intrigued by your frustration/critique— not sure what we've ever gone back to more than twice, and even then with a different guest to get a different perspective— but now I'm curious to know what it was.

Just to say also, the show is about Gene's unseen files, whether they concern TOS, TNG, the movies or from Majel's era ... or his college speeches from the Guru Gene era, or interviews, his pre-Trek work. Or personal life at any time.

All from the POV that even if not an actual Trek show memo/story/letter/photo/blueprint, it affected or relfected his life — and so ultimately offered insight into Trek and/or its longterm DNA. And with the years passing and the culture shifting now, younger viewers may not always have context for pre-cellphone,pre-Internet, pre-million-channel causes for the lanbdscape. (BTW: Sorry you don't care for the "annual" fan mail show— we and most viewers always have a hoot with it,—but I try to make fans of other eras human and show what passion looked like in the "stamps & paper" days. At least it's only one epsiode a season, so you can easily skip it. But thanks for watching enough to be frustrated. Can I call you a Trekofile?
Hey Larry, good to see you here! We've gotten to chat quite a bit in person about The Trek Files at Fan Fest last month, and I'm still a huge supporter of the podcast, so please don't take what I said as being overly negative. Since making that post a couple years ago, I've come around to realizing the show's scope as you said.

BTW, I think someone else in the thread was being critical over the fan mail show, not me.
