Lantern City

Anyone hear of any developments for the proposed Steampunk show produced by Bruce Boxleitner? It sounded interesting when I saw a promo for it on the space channel, but have not heard any news on it since.

I actually just had to same thought last week, and checked out the facebook page and it is still active. They released a illustrated novel (which also has an audio version narrated by Bruce Boxleitner), and are planning on releasing a graphic novel.
Here was their last big update posted on April 28th:

Citizens,

It has been a while since we last posted news about Lantern City. There is a fair amount to update you all on.

As of today we have released the RISE digital edition on the App store.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rise-lantern-city-illustrated/id860920937?mt=8

If you were one of the first 100 to pre-orders RISE, please send us an email at info@lanterncitytv.com with RISE IOS in the subject, and we will send you the download code for the iOS version.

For those of you with Android tablets, we need you to be patient just a little bit longer. The Google Play Store has a few different requirements, but we are sorting everything out now and we will send an update as soon as we know a firm release date. If you know you are using the Android version send us an email at info@lanterncitytv.com with RISE ANDROID in the subject, and we will send you the download code for the Android version the minute it is available.

As for other news there have been a lot of ups and downs. The Team continues to make headway on acquiring funding for season one of Lantern City after a leadership change at a major network left us high and dry. At 2.9 million per episode its not a small task. Lantern city has never been about doing things traditionally, so why should funding be any different.

Because we aren’t giving up on the series, we are moving into production on a full graphic novel for LC. “The Last War” will feature the final fight between Isaac Foster Grey and the No Side Army. This epic tale is too big to be contained in an illustrated novel and so a full graphic novel treatment is where we are going. Matt has already started writing and we are planning on releasing the first section of writing soon.

We know that good news is something that everyone want to hear about the series. We kept waiting for good news, as it seemed within our grasp. We try to keep the excruciating waiting to ourselves, but moving forward, we will update you all on a very regular basis, so you aren’t in the dark.

Thanks for sticking with us and the continued support. The light was getting dim there for a second, but things are looking much brighter now.

Sounds like a fairly decent production budget for a show that will feature likely no name actors.

Yeah, it does sound like they really want to go all out for this.
