Watched it again, that HQ link is amazing, and the Sleestaks look identical to the old series plus the raft is there. It looks like it is played somewhat straight with some Will Farrell mugging added but not a complete comedy/spoof.

^^ I'm not quite sure what is up with that, I guess in this version Will and Holly are going to be students and not related. It would have been better probably to adapt Christa the cave girl from the 91 version.
