Codswallop. The Place Which Must Not Be Named is full of good people and interesting threads. Why it's continually slagged off in other forums is beyond me. You're called out if you do or say something dodgy, but that's all part of being a grownup.

Indeed, but I suspect the being called out on something dodgy is the very reason why one wouldn't want to go there.

I am old enough to remember when the first Lego motor come out. We received on in our Christmas presents that year.

I am not sure if it was given as present for me, or whether it was my brother's, as we always combined our Lego as soon as we got them. We had a huge container full of Lego.

I had Lego and Playmobil, but I always prefered the latter. Interesting though that most men I talked about it claim that they prefered Lego when growing up. Maybe it's a question of faith (like Nikon or Canon). I always had a vivid imagination and my mind was full of stories, so I wanted my toys to be ready to play with them in order to bring these stories to life. With Lego it always took so long to build things with the little bricks.

I loved the building as much as the playing with Lego. My brother and I were forever taking everything apart and building it again by memory. I've always been a daydreamer, and my mind would wander off goodness knows where while I was fiddling with the bricks.

@Miss Chicken: I had that motor too! I also thought it was like the coolest thing ever. I was a Lego monster when I was a kid.

As baseball is to me now, so was Lego to me then.
