Labor Day Weekend Thread for the TrekBBS Lonelys Club

Certainly I cannot be the only one who is 100% completely alone for this Labor Day Weekend. Most of my family lives in Texas or Georgia, and I am up here all by myself in NC. I do have a half sister that lives here, but she never communicates with me or includes me in activities.

So no family BBQ to go to, no friends really to hang out with this weekend, no one, I am just here, by myself, and pretty much will just be working this entire weekend.

So, for those who are alone this weekend, let us have this thread! Let us rejoice in each others company this weekend and have our own TrekBBS Lonelys Club BBQ for Labor Day Weekend!

Discuss what you are doing, invite others to join in activities here, or just sit here the entire weekend glued to this thread as some kind of entertaining to get you through this three day weekend, let's entertain ourselves darnit!

Tonight, I am baking some enchiladas to enjoy, and afterwards some ice cream, I am going to relax to some TV and catch up on some shows I've DVR'd throughout the week.

I don't look at being alone as a bad thing, but I will be that this weekend. My parents are going to South Carolina and I never know what my Brother is doing. As of yet, I'm not invited to any BBQs or anything like that, but so what. I'm going to make it a good weekend and probably do a BBQ anyway.

I don't mind working weekends and/or holidays. Really, I don't mind it anymore.

What does get me though is when I have such a pretty day like today was, and I had to spend it indoors working. That is the pits.

For real. Today was gorgeous.

I mind working weekends because all of my friends don't. Working weekends in college was fine because all my friends were doing the same thing, but now I just want to have weekends off.

Yes! Today was a very pretty day where I live up here, the high only got to 67 degrees! Our low tonight is a chilly 43 degrees! Definitely a taste of things to come. It was also very bright and CLEAR, hard to explain but there was not a cloud in the sky, not a haze, not a fog, not a pollution, it was the most clear day I've ever seen, so bright and vibrant, the colors outside just popped.

So I went for a little drive today, went down off the mountain to look at some stores there, went to Best Buy and wanted to buy so many things but have no money, so I had to leave lol it was too tempting, then got me some lunch and stopped at Starbucks and got my favorite drink, and then came back home and ended up getting all my laundry done! I also got some work done on my project, and now I'm just relaxing with some crisp air coming through the window and about to watch a few episodes of Farscape

i'm completely alone here. no plans other than to watch reruns of House and start on the Star Trek Online novel. no job, been laid off since the end of March. no gf either, though that is a recent development. worst of all...i'm all out of beer!

Well, I took my parents to the airport today so for the next two weeks (Other than my brother being around), I'm the one running the house. Kinda looking forward to it, but I can see myself getting somewhat lonely. I'm going to try to not worry about it that much (Even though not having many friends around and not even having a girlfriend kind of sucks) since truthfully I've been looking forward to this. I'll manage and keep myself busy. Might even get a call to go in and work during this time (Which is the only real job I currently have, an on-call sub thing).

Oh yes, I'm alone...except for a few nieces, the rest of the family died; the nieces haven't spoken to me for months now, ever since my father passed.

I think I'll make my own picnic...I'll bake some chicken, and make some coleslaw and take everything over to the park. The Veteran's memorial is there and my brother has a paving stone memorial; I'm hoping that I'll be able to afford one for my father by Veteran's Day...I'll just have a picnic over there....and hang around here, too; it's been a stressful and depressing year to be alone.

I'm alone but by choice. My family went off to go camping but i chose not to go so i have the house to myself. I'll be hanging out with friends tomorrow and Monday so it'll be fine.

It ain't a holiday here, but it is Father's Day here. But as I basically live alone, I spend the day walking.
