La La Land Re-releases

From the product description:

Containing music originally from our long out-of-print 2012 Original Series Box Set, these exciting volumes utilize the same restored master as that acclaimed release, but feature new packaging by Dan Goldwasser, along with brand new, exclusive liner notes by film music writer and Trek historian, Jeff Bond.

I've assumed they'd also swap in the better quality recordings they found after 2012 that they included in the 50th anniversary grab-bag collection, but I don't think I ever saw anyone officially say that would be the case.

Here’s a lengthy discussion from when the set was released, in case you’re interested.

I know the tracks are exactly as per the original boxset, but does anyone know if the liner notes add anything new?

There are actually a few tracks that have better sources that were on the 50th Anniversary set and one (?) that was discovered after the fact. (A library cue by Joseph Mullendore that was used in Miri, if memory serves.) They are, however missing the Nimoy and Nichols vocals. But they do have Charles Napier! There are a few other tracks that are on the box but not these discs. Mostly sound FX I think.

Rather than a booklet per season these have a full booklet per 2 disc sets and they are also done by Jeff Bond. I'm assuming some or all of it will find its way into the upcoming update to his Music of Star Trek book. I hope.

I was rather close to double dipping on these. But I figured I have the box, let someone else have a turn. (And that was a lot of money.)

Do you mean the music stem they plucked from Court Martial when Kirk and Shaw first meet?

That's on the 50th but not the original boxset.

What I guess I'm saying - is if we have both the boxset and the 50th, apart from new liner notes, we aren't missing out on anything, right?
