Spoilers Kylo Ren's TIE Fighter Revealed

It also looks like it was designed to be significantly larger than that close-up of the cockpit would suggest. This is one of those things where I dislike a lot of the decision making re: details but the overall shape (mostly due to borrowing heavily from the ROTJ Interceptor design) is great.

I like the fact that it seems to be exactly like the kind of ship someone who seems as obsessed with Vader as Kylo is may have commissioned, while still keeping the lean Interceptor look.

I like it. It's a recognizable as a TIE design, but different enough to fell unique.

Is Kilo Ren a pilot too? I feel like Vader piloting a fighter was way beneath his stature, but he did it anyway because it hearkened back to his young warrior days and he was really good at it. So he had a special suped up fighter like he did as Anakin .

They should write Kylo as a bad pilot kinda like Obi-Wan so that there's at least a little contrast.

Sure, but it might be more interesting for his character to not share every characteristic of his forebears.

^Maybe he tried, but the boy had no inclination, or all of the desire but not the talent or patience? My father is a musician and I'm pretty much tone deaf. No amount of lessons can force a person to be talented and Han doesn't seem the sort to try and dictate how his son should live his life. Indeed, that sounds like the exact opposite of what Han would do.

Well the info released with the TIE Fighter said he got his flying skills from his father, but that could either mean 'inherited' (which IMO is dumb) or 'taught'

He went back to his old smuggling shenanigans about five or six years before TFA, which seems when it all went to pot. Prior to that he seemed to spend a good chunk of time moving around, racing for charity, running a racing his own team of his own and mentoring a lot of young pilots.

It's unclear when that started, but one gets the impression it was that way for a while. Probably at least as soon as Ben went off with Luke.

Perhaps Im being a little harsh on Han. He just...let me down. He was my hero, yaknow. Luke too...It's just too bad these fictional characters couldn't live up to their reputations.
