A good question. Probably not, or if she is, they'll have her dead so that Rey can't connect with her assumed mother.

Remember than Luke and Leia's mother was glossed over for almost the entire trilogy. Luke never even pondered her until he confronted Leia about being related. And all we got was a line about Leia's impression of their mother.

Do they have to pay him royalties though? I thought all of that stuff was owned by Lucasfilm/Disney? I mean did Lucas have to pay Zahn to use the name Coruscant? Or pay whoever came up with the double lightsaber? Or pay for inclusion of EU characters in the prequels?

Yep and my money is on that a contributing factor of Luke being in seclusion and sending Rey away is because of his wife/partner was killed by the Knights of Ren.

I like the portrayal of Kylo Ren. How at the beginning of the film he was not totally absorbed by the dark side.

I haven't seen it mentioned much here but did Ren remind anyone else of Anakin? In the interrogation scene with Rey, when he's not getting what he wants, Adam Driver reminds me so much of Hayden Christiansen when he's in a similar predicament. Wonder if Driver studied his "grandfathers" performance in order to inform his own? It just seemed a little spooky in a good way story wise.

I dunno, I didn't find Ren's demeanor anywhere near as grating and irritating as Anakin's whiny "Tell us now!" or "This is outrageous! It's unfair!"

klro ren was a bit meh as a villain, the only saving grace is the actor was quite good. this is the difference between kylo ren and anakin. Hayden Christensen was just plain awful as anakin and vader

Klyo took Snoke's orders but not Hux's, Kylo's something of a loose cannon. There's really no explaination for why he wants to be evil and I don't find that aspect of his character to be all that interesting.
