Well, it was quite a mixed bag. I liked it, but it had its fair share of issues.
Mixed reviews?!? Gasp!
Or perhaps they simply don't want to have two series running at the same time that both take place onboard an Enterprise.
So.. Star Fleet Academy... currently in production and set to Premiere in 2026DING DING DING DING DING!!!
I've been saying ever since the finale of S3 dropped, if they had simply kept that hero ship named the Titan, or even just rename it USS Picard, that might have given LEGACY a slightly better chance at being greenlit.
Matalas said that he set up that end with the idea of it being the Next Next Generation. I really disagree with that take. One of the nice things about TNG was that its main cast were entirely new characters. Aside from a cameo by Bones, the show kicked off with characters that had ZERO ties to the original series. They were literally their own crew and the show had to stand by that, and it's something I wish we would get with a future series one day.
LEGACY would feature Seven, Raffi, and that annoying son who I can't remember the name of. That's not baggage I want for what could be the next TNG. IMO, the next TNG should be set furthest into the timeline. Set it in 3451 for all I care, so long as all the characters are brand new with no ties.

And it's not really a traditional Trek show in the way TOS, TNG, and SNW are. It's a Trek series with its own unique premise just as DS9, Picard, Lower Decks, and Prodigy were. It'll do its thing while SNW serves as the flagship series for the foreseeable future.SFA features The Doctor (Voyager) and several Disco people.

Wow, had totally forgotten about them already. And even now I can remember the conn officer but not the other!Don’t forget the completely boring LaForge daughters!
Clearly leading Star material then.Wow, had totally forgotten about them already. And even now I can remember the conn officer but not the other!

Geordi got interesting?Yeah, how interesting was Geordi after 10 episodes of TNG? They played a minor part and did fine in that role.
Their only interesting characteristic was being Geordi's kids.Yeah, how interesting was Geordi after 10 episodes of TNG? They played a minor part and did fine in that role.
They didn't really develop his character until TNG season seven when we saw his mother. Figured the PIC writers just continued the tradition.Yeah, how interesting was Geordi after 10 episodes of TNG? They played a minor part and did fine in that role.
Sidney and Alandra serve their story purpose, limited though it is. They're not really there to be fully-fleshed out characters. They're there to give Geordi personal stakes. You call them "boring".
I see them as underdeveloped.

Where did I say that? You said they were under-developed while I think they were developed to the point necessary for the story being told.So now we're just supposed to toss them over the side?![]()

Is there a compelling reason to keep them? TOS turned over two casts. So now we're just supposed to toss them over the side?![]()
