Kurn dishonouring Worf in Sins of the Father

indolover

Fleet Captain
I always crease up when Kurn patronises Worf on the bridge:

"So, no course correction is necessary. Is that what you're saying?"
"It should not be needed, sir."
"Very good, Lieutenant. You handled that well!":lol:

But why does a Klingon reckon it's dishonourable to be patronised?

It's insulting to be treated like an idiot. I'd find that challenging to my honor.

It's buildup for the payoff when Worf prepares to fight him in his quarters.

"That is the response of a KLINGON! The response I'd expect... from my brother."

Kurn is testing Worf's reactions, seeing if he will respond as a Klingon or if he'll sit there and take it. If he's not going to be Klingon about it, he's not the one to defend their family's honor and Kurn will have to be the one to step forward and challenge Duras' claim. But Worf is the elder brother, by Klingon law, he is the head of house and it falls to him to represent their case to the Council.

Maybe Worf should've offered him a Suggestion, haha.

Tony Todd was so awesome as Kurn.

That's it, and I agree that Tony Todd was outstanding.
