The Chamber wasn't destroyed, though, because Kandor was saved. Perhaps Lyta uses a sample of Seg's hair or something (or reuses whatever archived DNA of Seg's is already stored in the Matrix) and conceives his child through the Matrix as a tribute to his memory.
Natural conception is still possible; it's just become obsolete societally.
Lyta is most likely pregnant when Seg disappears; she's just unaware of it.
That hasn't been established. In fact, they've explicitly said more than once that losing the Genesis Chamber would lead to the extinction of their species, implying that they can't reproduce naturally any longer -- or at least that they believe they can't.
I only saw the first couple of episodes and not super impressed. Which episodes would you all consider the best of the season?

Lobo? That seems like an odd choice for a show this solemn. I mean, if his backstory were approached seriously, Lobo would be a truly monstrous evil, a cruel and arbitrary destroyer of worlds, even more malevolent than Brainiac, who at least thought he was doing his victims a favor by preserving their data for eternity. But he's usually approached as a more comedic character, an over-the-top parody of ultraviolent '90s antiheroes. I wonder how they'll handle him on the show.
Doesn't Zod say that it is only later that the genesis chamber is the only form of reproduction implying that natural reproduction is still possible?
I just finished this series--I put it off because I wasn't really interested in the concept, but after a lackluster first couple of episodes I really got hooked on it. I thought it was a really nice interpretation on the DC universe. I did find it odd that Brainiac seems to already have a city from Earth in his collection if he hadn't traveled into the past, so the only option must be that Adam Strange was actually Zeta Beamed back to the future. Overall a strong cast with interesting characters, and a really great version of Brainiac.
I was just about to post this myself. This is disheartening news, because I thought Scanlan was unbelievably awful as Jim Corrigan on Constantine -- a dull actor whose muttered lines were barely comprehensible and whose capacity for emotional expression was about on a par with the corpse that Corrigan was slated to become if the series had continued. I find it hard to imagine what they'd see in him for Lobo, of all characters. I mean, I never liked Lobo anyway, but at least he's been played in animation by some cool actors like Brad Garrett and John DiMaggio. I would've gone with someone like Todd Stashwick, say.

Todd Stashwick as Lobo would be amazing.
I didn't hate Scanlan that much, but he definitely didn't impress me either, and based on that performance he's definitely not someone who would have come to mind for a character like Lobo.

It is a bit odd to to get such a over the top character on a show that at least in the first half of the season, which is all I saw so far, was fairly serious.
I'm really disappointment, because I was hoping we'd eventually see him on one of the Arrowverse shows.
I think it must be coming out soon because it just came out last week on dvd and blu-ray, Usually those are released a few weeks before the new season arrives.
Screw "coming soon," Syfy! Give us a date already!
So we have that date now: June 12. Looking forward to this.
