I hope he forgot how to morph into a pickup truck.

Well, if they had to axe some folks and keep some, I think they kept the right ones.

Graiman should have remained.

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

I kinda wish they would at least bring back Hasslehoff to sorta be the 'Devon' of the series, which is what I THOUGHT they were going to do in the first place? I mean, Devon wasn't always in every episode actually doing something, most of the time he was just a face on a monitor telling Mike and KITT what to do or providing support and exposition. Heck all they need to do is pay Hasslehoff for a few days worth of work, have him record a bunch of dialogue based on a few upcoming stories, maybe a couple shots of him walking around an office showing something off or from some location, then bring him back as a guest star every 3 episodes or something. Surely can't cost them THAT much.

Sarah may be the 'owner' but Senior is the 'boss' or at least like 'Director' and that's semi-plausible. Sarah is probably the chief share holder or something, but she takes a more field role working out of the Kittcave. Whereas Senior is going around making contacts, handling other 'business, and Junior is doing the 'roaming' good guy thing that Senior used to do. Helping out little guys, companies and from time to time the cops.

Although I think they'll need to reintroduce the Semi to provide road support to KITT. Unless they're always going to have KITT limping back home to the Cave to get fixed up.

^ If I recall correctly though the Hoff said he has no plans to ever return to the show when asked about it during the promotion for America's Got Talent.

You're right. When I posted that, I was thinking it was okay to get rid of the agent types, and I was glad they kept the techy kids. To be honest, I'd rather they kept papa Graiman and lost the daughter. I don't see a speck of chemistry between her and Mike, and I just don't like her face for some reason (the eyes, maybe).

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

Hasselhoff doesn't have that "Devon" vibe. Why won't he return anyway?

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

^ Maybe he wants to keep his film resume integrity intact in case they want him to reprise Nick Fury for The Avengers.

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

HAH that's funny!

Well I think he himself mentioned when the new series was starting out that he wanted to come back in a sort of Devon like role. Although why he won't come back is odd to say the least, doesn't he actually OWN the rights to Knight Rider or something? I can see him maybe having problems with the creative team, but they're getting back to the 'old school' of KR, so why not come back and see that it endures?

What I think would be kinda awesome is if they had Senior come back with the original KI2T and had Junior and KI3T team up to fight the ultimate fanwank story - Garth Knight with KARR's AI in a new and improved GOLIATH!

That is so ridiculous it would work!! :techman:

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

^ Why do I have a feeling that will eventually happen?

I would watch that episode, guaranteed.

Although they'd probably blow it by not introducing Garthe, KARR or Goliath until five minutes from the end, then killing them all off too quickly because the budget ran out...

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

^ Or Garthe would be played by Bruening and not the Hoff.

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

That makes sense about KARR knowing Mike's new name. Any idea what memories KITT is missing? Or why they made that point?

Maybe he's forgotten, like everyone else who works at the SSC seemingly has, that KARR also has a nano-repair system, rebuilt himself and then followed them all home where he'll bump them off one by one......

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

Or that slimey government guy that egged Torres on went and got the wreckage, found the KARR Ai chip and parts, took it to some secret government lab and KARR will be all ready and raring to go for the next sweeps month!

Actually what would be nice is if they had actually made KARR and the other government guys the recurring 'bad guys' of the series. Then we find out in some super sweeps month or season finale or premiere or something that all these strings have been pulled by Garthe and Jennifer (I think that was his sister's name) Knight in an effort to basically get the Knight Foundation back in their control.

Or the 'business' Senior Knight is working on is... Garthe's sister :omg:

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

^ I kinda like that idea too.

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

I still want Val Kilmer to show up as Chris Knight. ;)

Which is ironically the name of Kilmer's character from "Real Genius".

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

^ You know I never realized that before.

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

That was a terrible episode. I haven't watched this show since the mini series and I sure as heck won't be watching it after this episode. The only good thing was the 2 minutes of Car and Peter Cullen. The rest was utter shit. Give me the 80s show on any rainy day over this crap.

Re: Knight Rider - 1x12 "Knight to King's Pawn" - Discussion and Spoil

Y'know it is kinda funny that Kilmer was a 'Knight' back in the 80s and now he's KITT. haha let's get Lazlo in as an analyst.

Oooo... Real Genius/Pretender/Knight Rider crossover!

Chris Knight is actually one of Wilton's genius nephews, who meets up with Lazlo who after the events of Real Genius gets married, then gets hired by 'the Centre' has his named changed to Broots...

Sarah, in her search for more support staff for KITT, finds Chris Knight who she's amazed actually shares KITT's voice, finds out that her dad actually based KITT's voice and personality on Chris. Chris is still the rebel but tells her to find Lazlo who's now living in Delaware as Broots.
LOL it could work
Oh yeah and Kilmer can also be masquerading as 'Gay Perry' a PI out of Hollywood working with Robert Downey Jr... y'know so they can have RDJr do a guest starring stint too... why not right? LOL

Y'know given the writing of the current series, almost ANYTHING can work somehow.

Course as long as they keep Smith Cho on as support staff I'll be happy... I'm in love with her the more I watch her. For some reason the snarky comments and slightly flirty stuff comes better with her than it does from Sarah...
