Klingons... One Thing I'm Suprised They Never Had...

Is it just me, or do you think tattoos would have probably made a good addition to Klingon Culture? As a warrior culture with a proud heritage I am really surprised that Klingons did not have ink detailing their victories. Just a stray thought.

Meh. Tattoos might work with the Jaffa, but based on Nero they don't seem to do anything for the Romulans. I don't think there's any need for tattood Klingons.

I agree, most warrior types usually have a tattoo of some kind as a momento of their experiences.

I'm glad they didn't. It seems too modern Earth for me. As for momentos of their battles, I'd think that nothing less than the actual scar would suffice. Anything else would be dishonorable.

Klingons like to talk, and even sing, about their exploits. Tattoos would probably not be as exciting to them.

Their logic would probably be: if a Klingon can't explain their accomplishments well enough by talking, or singing a song, they don't deserve the fame gained thereby. Tattoos are just too passive, just something to be looked at. Where's the fun in that? :p

DENTAL HYGIENE

the only Klingon who knew how to floss

I'm surprised they didn't have hairdressers even the Klingon Women had HAIRY ARMPITS
:wtf: Klingon hairdressers who do armpits?!

We'd sell them a Federation Barber who does the full package. :p I mean come on ! it would be impossible to sell a Klingon a bikini waxing when they are already reluctant to cut their hair or floss ;)

Me GIRL-KA

Me empowered woman

Me sentence Quark to "death by snu-snu".

Klingons already look like a bumpy-headed cross between motorcycle gang members and '80s big-hair rock band members. Tattoos would make the similarities even more obvious.

Ceremonial/tribal tattoos would be suited to Klingons.

Makes sense.

I agree with the "big hair" thing. They look ridiculous.

Dreadlocks would look cooler.

Maybe it's a question of not having human aesthetic values. Maybe they would interpret the decorating of oneself as a display of weakness and concern of vanity over honor. Maybe a Klingon with a tattoo could never hope to succeed in the military.

Or maybe they just don't care.

I have a theory that one clue to the Klingon warrior psyche is that pleasure and pain are very closely associated to them, even on a physiological level. Maybe they don't get tattoos because it would be too much like paying for sex!

For a big tough race like the Klingons, being tattooed would merely tickle, and for a Klingon to be seen giggling would be Hu'tegh unseemly!
