Klingons on Picard and other future shows

I call smooth forehead Klingons too. The augment virus has come back with a vengeance and is taking no prisoners.

This time it has some Vulcan DNA in it, so they have one Vulcan ear each. There will be civil wars fought between those who have an affected left ear, those who have a Vulcan right ear. They both despised the real freaks who've developed a final "front" ear.

Or Disco. That abbreviation is canon thanks to the t-shirts.
But that messes with everyone's little heads that insist that a show can only have a 3-letter acronym that they decide and no one else can have their opinion. STD/DSC/DIS/Disco all valid in my mind, so I pick what I want to call it. If/when STD becomes a better Star Trek show, I'll probably call it DIS (don't like DSC), but not before it get's good.

If the Klingons show up on the Picard show, do you think we'll get the Discovery style Klingons or go back to the The Search For Spock - Enterprise design?
Personally I'm hoping they go back to the TSFS - Ent design, just to keep it consistent with TNG and it's movies. The same applies to every familiar alien species we see.
I think Discovery can get away with changing the designs since it's kind of off by itself in a new era, but since the Picard show will be a sequel to TNG and Nemesis, they should try as much as possible to keep a visual consistency with them.
Probably the Disco Klingons. Lets face it -- these new looking Klingons are the prime Klingons, the real Klingons funded by CBS and everything known will be rewritten to match what's seen on Disco.

What's been rewritten?

Oh, yeah, I think GR said something about that.

*sigh* Why must y'all insist on being willfully obtuse? We've been telling you for YEARS that the official abbreviation for Discovery is DSC. If the new series is called Destiny, it would likely be abbbreviated as DES or DST. This is consistent with how previous series are abbreviated: TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT.

Retire the "STD" jokes. They were lame the first time, and they get lamer every time they're repeated.

Absolutely agree. I don’t get why STD was ever a thing beyond its obvious joke, anyway, as none of the other shows use the ST in their abbreviations. Hell, I’ve always referred to Discovery as DIS, which makes even more sense to me than the DSC one you mentioned.

STD needs to go the hell away, though.

I wouldn't mind some Romulans really, as long as they are finally actually developed as a whole society.

You can say whatever you want about Discovery's Klingons, but at least they really went deeper into the whole different houses thing, different looks, different skincolors even. I want something similar for Romulans.
I mean, really, every soldier, scientst, doctor and civilian has that same hairdresser and tailor? And they ALL are suspecious of eachother and everything around them? They all lie and plot and decive and whatnot?

You know I have absolutely no dog in this fight and couldn't care less about abbreviations, however since panties are getting bunched up so severely, I'm tempted to start using and promoting 'STD' myself.

I think it would be awesome if, in the first 5 min of the first episode, Michael Dorn shows up in full DSC make up and costume, looks right at the camera, extends his middle finger, laughs, and skips gleefully off screen, never to be seen or heard from again.

It's the scene we deserve.

I don't think it's gonna happen. Micheal Dorn was very critical in interviews about how L'Rell's makeup covered up "everything but her eyeballs" in season 1. I know the makeup is a bit lighter now, and I know that Dorn is hella thirsty to be Worf again in any capacity. But I just don't see him agreeing if it's a full silicone mask like Discovery Klingons. He's going to want only a partial face appliance.

While I 100% appreciate your response (I actually didn't know he had commented on the matter!)...I hope you know that my post was made in jest!

I'm sure there will be Klingons involved at some point. Klingons and Romulans don't like each other. Somehow the Klingons will take advantage of the disarray in the Romulans empire. I hope they make them similar to the Klingons seen through out TNG - Voyager. I wouldn't mind seeing a mix of smooth heads, Discovery types and the TNG era ones.

Yeah, I understood. But the showrunners probably do have a "problem" to unravel if they actually want Micheal Dorn to be on the show.

My guess is - however, they don't. I mean given the casting call information it's pretty clear that the DES is going to be populated by entirely new main characters other than Picard. That means that anyone else he knew will be largely restricted to cameos - special guest star at the most. If there's no story reason for the characters, the showrunners really won't be apt to want to pay for them.

Agree- that's the feeling I get as well.
