Klingon D6 - WIP

I think the paneling on the hull and wings will look better with less contrast between the two main hull colors. Some of the triangular panels look awkward as it is.

Just 2 cents worth. Fun stuff! If this ship was on long deployment, maybe this paneling is armor that was fitted while deep behind enemy lines, that kind of thing.

Spiffy. I like the 'rust' look for the Klingons. Leaves the 'green' look for the Romulans. ;)

In particular, I like how the center of the body reminds me of an old radiator.

This one is my favourite picture!:D I must say ''MadMan'' you have really outdone yourself this time, It's on par with the ''K'tinga'' in my book. If I May make a suggestion for your next project, do you think you could take on the NX-O1? I have been very interested in what you might be able to do with the ''NX'' ever since I saw your NU-EXCELSIOR desing!

Same here. A ship with a grille, what's not to love?
Must resist temptation to envision it now with chrome...Klingons singing doo-wop...the center does not hold...abort...abort...

Very cool1 I'm looking forward to seeing some high quality renders of this when it's done. :techman:

Thanks everybody. :) "Old Car Parts" is what I was aiming for. :)

Looking at some of my pics, here, I realize that I forgot to give it any disruptors. I better fix that... wouldn't want them to have to rely solely on torpedoes.

I guess I will put them up front on the "head" where they are on the D7...

Yeah, that's a good idea about the paneling. Maybe the brand new ship didn't have any at all, but only ended up with it after being in service for a while? Kind of like those refitted Humvees.... they look a little strange after being upgraded.

It's a real beauty. heh heh weird calling a Klingon ship a "Beauty" isn't it? :D

Now ya got something for all those Nu-Trek ships of yours to fight!

Yep. :)

I need to figure out some kind of Romulan ship to build next. Maybe they ended up more advanced because of the timeline issues?

Everything so far looks like sorta Advanced. Almost like it's TMP era kinda tech done up if they suddenly got plans for it all in TOS. So an advanced looking Rommie ship from this era wouldn't be out of the question IMHO.

Very slick...to me, this "rusty/dirty" look is perfect for a Klingon design...perhaps I'm reminded of old Russian subs. Anyway, love the detail and grill work too. Maybe even some dents and gouges might be appropriate.
BTW, have you done any more work on your JJ-universe Klingon design?
I'd say that is one of the slickest new designs I've seen in a while.

Thanks. :)

I just need to texture it. I have the modeling finished. I think it, combined with this one, would make a neat little attack fleet....

Well, we've got an early glimce at JJRomulans from the Star Trek: DAC game screenshots:

Although, I still would hope they'd be more like John Eaves original design for the ENT Bird of Prey, looked WAY better than the final model:

I like those long, pointy ones! Maybe I'll work on a hybrid of the two designs.

Huh. Ditching the bird motif are we, JJ?

Also, regarding John Eaves's sketches, the only difference I could detect between the drawing and the final product was the lack of bird on the final.

I like those long, pointy ones! Maybe I'll work on a hybrid of the two designs.

That would be excellent. I like my Romulan bird-ships... :shifty:

The Eaves drawing looks a little thinner, the glowing parts of the nacelles look more subtle. The final model looks like someone used a tire pump to inflate what it was supposed to be.

Well, now that you've pointed it out, I can see what you mean.

I may be colored by a general dislike for the design as realized, at least in continuity. I hate to jump on the 'looks too advanced bandwagon' but it does to me. For the late 23rd/early 24th century, I'd be okay with it.

How about putting a few on the body near the ramscoops?
