Kirk's best one liners in both the films and Series

From "The Conscience of the King," explaining to Spock how he knew Karidian's daughter would be coming on board:

"I'm the Captain!"

That says it all. -- RR

A new favorite of my after seeing "Who Mourns For Adonais?" is Kirk's thoughts on the prospect of one of his crew retiring to start a family.

“I like to think of it not so much as losing an officer, but gaining… actually, I’m losing an officer.”

I love that "Hey, wait a minute..." tone he puts on the second half.

Kirk: "I can't believe I kissed you."

Shapeshifter as Kirk: "It must have been your lifelong ambition..."

TUC

"Death...has little meaning to us" - The Corbomite Maneuver

"One of the advantages of being a Captain is being able to ask for advice without necessarily having to take it." - Dagger of the Mind

"What makes you think you're a man. You're an overgrown jackrabbit. An elf with a hyperactive thyroid." - This Side of Paradise (actually that whole rant was funny)

"You're a doctor. There's your patient. That's an order." - Devil in the Dark

"I see your point" - STII:TWOK (responding to Khan)

"Alright, tell them, 'Phasers on stun. Good luck.', Kirk out." - STIV:TVH

"Don't you have something better to do? Go pester Doctor McCoy." - STV:TFF

Some of my other favourites aside from the ones already mentioned

"You of all people should know the dangers of reopening old wounds." (Kirk to McCoy, TWOK)

"Ah, she's learning by doing." (cut line from TWOK)

Channeling Sam Spade in "The Man Trap":
"I don't like mysteries; they give me a bellyache, and I've got a beauty right now."

In "The Enterprise Incident", just before Spock takes the Romulan Commander away, she bows her head towords Kirk and says simply "Captain". Kirk smiles, tilts his head slightly, and says "Commander." This to me was the personification of Kirk, Shatner imbued that little moment and made it say "remember who I am - don't eff with me". My favorite Kirk moment.

Darn, I was going type that.

Kirk: "How many fingers am I holding up? You are suffering from Vulcan mindmeld doctor."

McCoy: "That green blooded son of bitch. It's his revenge for all those arguments he lost!"

I love that!

Kirk: "Scotty, beam me up."

Oh wait...he never said that.

Kirk: "Space...the final...frontier."

From the trouble with tribbles interrogation of scotty.

Kirk: Why did you throw the first punch?
Scotty: While i..sir...is this off the record?
Kirk: NO THIS IS NOT OFF THE RECORD!!!!

funniest scene ever.

Trouble with Tribbles

"I'll hold you in arms if you don't shut up!"

The Voyage Home

"Double-dumbass on you!"

"No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space."

"I love Italian...and so do you."

Darn you beat me to it...

I liked:

"You'll find it in the great literature of the time.. Daniel Steel, Suzan Plechet""

Spock:"Ahhh..the giants"

From TVH Kirk and Spock in the back of the bus on the way to the whale exhibit, a great scene. From Starship Captain to riding the back of the bus..hee..hee.

"They're dying Jim..."

"Let them die!"

My favorite from that movie comes from the exchange between McCoy and Kirk in Rura Punthe:

McCoy
...One night Kobayashi Maru.

Kirk
Bones, are you afraid of the future.

McCoy
That's the general feeling I was trying to convey.

Or later after Marta kisses Kirk:

McCoy
What is it with you anyway?

Kirk
Still think we're in danger.

McCoy
Now more than ever.

"I'll hold you in arms if you don't shut up!"

Kirk actually says "I'll hold you in irons if you don't shut up", a reference to the old naval tradition of placing iron manacles on disobedient sailors.

"That's what this ship is all about. That's why we're aboard her!!"

"Note to Galley: Romulan Ale no longer to be served at diplomatic functions."
