Kirk left on his own. Guinan was pulled away against her will. I think part of her would remain there since it may be impossible to completely beam someone out of the Nexus. If you leave willingly you take all of yourself out.

Yep. Wasn't it originally put in as a way to reveal the source of Guinan's abilities? Until someone pointed out that this would mean Picard would have the same abilities after he left the Nexus.

No she wasn't - Guinan's pattern was phasing in and out of their space-time continuum. Scotty locked on to Guinan's as well as everyone else's pattern on the Lakuul and beamed over what he could have. The other 150-47 passengers are probably dead or in the Nexus somehow, because you can't fly starship into the Nexus - as stated in the movie.

So maybe with hull breaches, some passengers may have been sucked out into space or maybe the Nexus was somehow reaching some of the passengers thus, their patterns were "phasing in and out".

Anyway point being, Guinan's echo image in still in the Nexus because at one point she was there, and so should Kirk/Picard.

Guinan and Soran and the only ones who left the Nexus...Kirk and Picard are stuck there for all time. The post Generations movies are Picard's fantasies.

I mean, if the Nexus allowed them to go anywhere in the universe at anytime and Picard didn't have the fucking notion of saving his nephew, whom he was crying about losing days ago...then he's worthless as hero.

And lest I mention stopping Soran at the research station or a host of more intelligent things to do?
