Kirk has brown eyes

Well, my childhood has now been sufficiently raped. You can change the ship, the ages and backgrounds of the characters; hell, you can change the very history of the Federation for all I care. But when you mess with a character's eyes, you've gone too far. Those are the windows to the soul. All I can see now when I gaze longingly into faux-Kirk's icy blue soul windows of deceit are your lies, Mr. Abrams. You will not be getting my $11.50, sir, for I shall no longer tolerate being a victim. Good day, soul stealer.

Having Hazel eyes myself and My GF can corroborate this.. Some mornings I wake up my eyes look Blue, some days Green and some days Brown. It's the great thing about Hazel eyes.

Seeing as I have flecks of Blue, Green and Tan in my eyes...

Aren't we sophisticated enough to tell the difference between the actor and the character?
No.

You realise that your Avatar actually says that Pine IS Kirk, you wanted "Not Kirk." not "Not. Kirk."

I guess you weren't around for a certain board-wide meme that hit back in 2005. Besides, it's pretty damn clear what the image is supposed to mean.

Also, I've met some grammar Nazis in my time but this takes the flapjack.

This may end up being a spoiler (you've been warned) but maybe the reason the kid gives his full name is that he wanted the cop to know exactly who he is: I think he trashed his dad's antique car on purpose.

Superman Returns. Routh has extremly dark features, complete with really dark brown eyes. Now, Singer, if he hadnt had as much admiration and respect for the Donner movies and the character of Superman, had Routh wear vibrant blue contact lenses as Christopher Reeve and predominantly the character had blue eyes. Fair enough.

James bond. The character has blue-grey eyes, dark hair, a scar on his cheek and is 6 1". So, maybe we should go back and edit the entire franchise to compensate with this. Make Daniel Craig 4 inches taller, darken his hair and cut his face. Same with Moore and Dalton and the rest. Its the character, not the actor.

A character can be played anyway and by any means possible by the actor portraying them. some actors like to portray the physical side while others portray the physcological side and some both. Its also upto the director/producers to decide what the character should look like.

Oh, and i dont care, its the movie and the characters, not the resemblance im looking at.

mhmmm... no... still can't bring myself to care about Captain Kirk's eye-colour.
Hell, before Pine was cast I didn't even know WHAT eye-colour Shatner had...

I've been reading and posting in this thread, and I still don't know what color eyes he has.

One of them is blue...can't say I care to remember which is which.

There was a TNG episode in which Data's eyes were brown in an alternate universe scene (Parallels, I think). Clearly STXI is an alternate universe replete with different ships, different bridges, different Romulans, and different Kirk eyes. Everything will be fixed at the end of this movie once the reset button is pressed.

Well I hear there is an in movie fix to answer the questions --

During the birthing scene of JT Kirk, his mother starts singing the song "Don't it make my brown eyes blue" by Crystal Gayle and well magically the baby eyes change from brown to blue. Of course, the song was lost to history until Nero went back in time, got an MP3 and slipped it into Momma Kirk's iPod and got her hooked on it.

Im sure i heard a line the trailer something like...:

Offscreen voice: "You have your fathers eyes, Jimmy"
Kirk: "They were the only things he left me in his last will, told me i might need them someday, as if my future depended on it."

*Kirk speeds off on bike, chased by armoured bounty hunter again when hes 20-odd*

*Bursts into ground based medical bay*

Kirk: "IS THERE A MCCOY HERE, A LEONARD H. MCCOY? I need a favour, that cunts got a retina scanner. Here, take this small box"

Sebastian Shaw(dying Anakin in the original and 1997 editions of ROTJ)had different colored eyes than Hayden Christensen in the prequels. Lucas fixed that in the most recent DVDs of JEDI by digitally changing Shaw's eyes to match Christensen's.

That's because George Lucas is crazy ;)

I, like many others here, had no idea what colour Kirk's eyes were until... well until reading this thread actually.

Of all the visual changes this one has got to matter least. And I'm of the opinion that none of them matter at all!

Yeah, well whatever the colour of Chris Pine's eyes -

They're pretty damn gorgeous, and that's enough for me for the moment.

Oh yeah - well:

All the boys think she's a spy
She's got Bette Davis eyes
